No we don't- but if someone insults us we won't just sit back and take it which could be seen as an anti-American attitude. The only times I have ever had a problem with Americans was when they were insulting Canada. |

No, but it is weird that Americans are offended when Canadians like their own country more than theirs. Aren't we suppose to? |

nope. we just think more highly of us than you :) |

Nope, just pro-Canada attitudes. If an American takes that as being anti-American it's just their own insecurity talking. |

I think that over the past eight years Canadians have generally had an anti-American government attitude. I've never once heard a Canadian have anything good to say about George W. Bush. Now that America has a new president, Canadians are every bit as hopeful as most Americans that things will improve in the United States and around the world. |

No, in general I would say Canadians do not have an anti-American attitude. But, some people do, and opposition to American policies and actions changes depending on what the USA does in the world and with Canada. Certain periods in history have been more anti-Americanism while right now, we seem to be entered a time of less anti-American attitude because of Obamamania. |

hmmm I would say no.
I also live in Alberta though... where you live in Canada obviously affects your political affiliation and attitudes towards the United States. Here we generally don't have anti-American attitudes. We just pick on you guys sometimes. Probably not unlike you guys picking on us. I think of it like a sibling rivalry. |

No. We do like to pick on American sometimes, but only because it's funny. We don't mean any harm.
There are some things that tend to bother most Canadians that I've met though. Like when so many Americans seem to be so oblivious to the world they live in (not just Canada, but the entire world). Some American policies and George W. Bush really tainted our view of America.
But we sure ain't anti-American.
Personally, when I think of America I think of the war of 1812, when the American leaders at that time thought us Canadians hated our lives up here and thought we would be happy to hand over our land to them and become American. So America invaded....and we kicked y'all out and burned down the white house. |

americans are funny to watch..it's like having an ant farm in ur basement...seeing them scurrying around in their silly little trailer parks, inbreeding and their little groups fighting with the other groups not knowing that there's a whole world outside of their little glass walls.... u can't take them seriously for they really don't know any better.....i can't say that I feel anything towards americans, they're just...amusing..!! |

Yes, they can't support their own hockey teams so the team ends up moving to the US. A Canadian hockey team hasn't won the Stanley Cup since 1993.
Actors and musicians move from Canada to the US; another reason to resent Americans.
Canadians feel they are important, yet fail to lead on any important world issue.
The US declared it's independence from England in 1776. Canada is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state; still a stepchild of England.
2008 Olympics: Michael Phelps - 8 gold, Canada - 3 gold.
Mlka: check your facts; the British burned the white House. |
