Do Canadians sometimes find American nickles in their change like we find Canadian nickles in ours?

All the time! I find pennies from the United States the most, but there is also nickles and occasionally, quarters. As long as shops keep taking them, I'm fine with it.

I used to find English one pence coins (they look similar to pennies) in my change too.

I remember getting one or two of them when I was visiting Canada, so I would say yes.

Also, I was in Bellingham WA airport and found a pop machine that takes both US and Canadian

Oh Yes! All the time! (1cent, 5 cents, 10 cents and also 25 cents)

u r dumb
Yes we do !

Always and visa versa....quarters, nickles and dimes are always in the change of both denominations in both countries. No matter where I have lived, it has never changed....wait til the US puts out its 'toonies and loonies'!!!!!

All the time...only difference is stores will actually take them when you pay for something with them. I actually had a McDonalds in the US turn down 4 Canadian pennies so I had to use my bank card to pay for the order. I couldn't believe it.

Yes, once or twice

Whats That About?
I usually find american pennies, never a nickle tho

As long as they have comparable denominations, pennies, nickles, dimes & quarters. Loonies & Two-nies -- not used or accepted in the States

Most big cities and border towns take them at par - no exchange rates, and most banks will not take them,. so people just spend them as usual. Vending machines can be more finicky - so people tend to just spend them at convenience stores or the like. So yes, Canadians find US change, and Yanks find Canadian change.

Probably not so true up in the far northern rural provinces, just like in rural southern US states.

I live an hour from the Canadian border in NY and change flows freely between Rochester Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Toronto etc.

All the time. And not just nickles but quarters, dimes, and pennies. It's nothing special though since they are just treated as Canadian coins.
