No. You do not need a passport if you are going to the concert by bus, train, car, or even crossing the border by boat. You ONLY need a passport if you will be coming to Canada by plane.

Americans and Canadians have been given an exemption until June 2009 so they can get the backlog of passport requests out of the way.

Please read the Canada Public Safety news bulletin below. It confirms what I am telling you.

Or if you prefer an American version, check out the requirements from the Homeland Security website. The very last paragraph on the page gives you the passport requirement date. Before that, they accept valid government photo ID and birth certificate.

I would not recommend waiting until the last minute to get your passport though. It looks like it is pretty much a done deal that you will need it to cross the US/Canada border eventually. May as well put in the application now if you often go to Canada for holidays, concerts, and such.

No you do not need a passport. It's just easier to get past if you have one. Otherwise a birth certificate or a citizenship is fine. All those people who said yes are wrong and the person with the long answer is really smart. But they write way too much and no one has time to read that lol But yea you don't Hope i helped =)
