No but you will soon. I'd bring it anyway as some border crossings can be finicky. The link you need is below.

Do I need a passport to travel to the United States?
Though passports are the document of choice for travel, Canadian citizens do not currently require a passport to travel to the United States. However, Canadians who are travel ling outside Canada are encouraged to obtain a passport, as it is the most widely accepted proof of Canadian identity and citizenship.
In April 2005, the United States Government announced the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) requiring all visitors to and from the Americas, including Canadian citizens, to present a passport to enter or re-enter the United States by December 31, 2007.
The WHTI will be implemented in three phases, as follows:
December 31, 2006 - A passport will be required for all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
December 31, 2007 - The passport requirement will be extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.
For further information on United States policy, you may consult the US State Department Web site. |

Not if you an American citizen (though as the other answerers pointed out, that's changing soon.) To get back into the States, you may be asked for proof of citizenship. If you're not carrying a passport, you'd need a copy of your American birth certificate. And valid picture ID. |

I believe a law was just passed about this, so I would recommend that you check online. But I think you need one. |

No. The Citizenship and Immigration Canada website says that all you need to enter Canada from most countries is either a passport, OR some other documentation that proves your identity. Link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/
However, you will soon need a passport if you want to go back into the US again afterwards. This will be a US requirement - the US will soon be requiring a passport of anyone wishing to enter the US, even US citizens. Link: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2225.html |
