You don't need a visa to visit Canada, unless your stay is over 6 months. Contact the Canadian Embassy in London, or the nearest Canadian Consulate. They'll send you the paperwork. Good luck and welcome to Canada.

Hi Vanessa,

The fact that you hold a British passport is completely irrelevant to immigration officials. You cannot just show up and expect to be able to stay. You need to apply to the Canadian government. Be prepared to wait a very long time. We have close to a million other applications that are ahead of you. As we only accept about 250,000 new immigrants each year (though that may go down as the economy here worsens) even if you were to apply and be considered today it will still take you upwards of 4 years.

You can't just move here. You can visit, but in order to live here you must apply.
Here is the website for Citizenship and Immigration Canada (I have chosen a page about visas):

There is an organisation in the UK called BUNAC. They have a sister company here called SWAP.ca they both specialize in working holidays etc.

you have to apply and qualify to immigrate

you need skills

you can visit for up to six months on your british passport BUT during that time you would not be able to work here. for that you need a work permit or apply for permanent residency. the details on all of that are at httpo://www.cic.gc.ca

to search for jobs before you come (which is what you need to do for work permit.... find a job and then apply for permit)

you can get a three months waiver visa at the airport, ask Canadian Embassy for this, but to move out there you have to apply for imiigration or find a sponsour job. You can get a student visa first then find out later what you can do. Check the website for living in Canada from google search to find out more.
