LOL some of the people in here are just stupid,Quote " Youll be safe as long as you stay inside the eaton centre, if you leave you will be shot" LOL, hillarious. Toronto is One of the safest Large cities in north america. Anyone who thinks it isnt is just naive. Every large city has its problems, but toronto has less than most large cities. People need to quit taking what they see on the six o'clock news to heart and start looking at the big picture. There is alot of people here and its the most multi cultural city in the world, most would be surprised if they knew how safe and peaceful Toronto really is considering some of the challenges we face. Toronto is perfectly safe. And the area around the eaton centre is extremely safe. Enjoy! Out of the 3 malls I recommend Yorkdale, nice mall with bad parking. All are more safe than Disney. I see Ten year olds taking TTC and walking around downtown by themselves everyday. If they can do it so can you:)

Anywhere can be dangerous. But in general, no I don't think it's dangerous. Just be smart and use your head. Try not to walk around in secluded areas or at night by yourself. If you HAVE to be out at night, make sure you stay where there are people and it's well lit. I mean, just be responsible and you should be fine. Keep your head up. You might get bothered by a few homeless people, but they're generally harmless. Just be polite and they'll leave you alone.

I've never had any issues so No. It is the same as any large city.

In any major city no matter where you are you need to be aware of your surroundings and cautious as there are many people in a small area.

The Eaton's centre is very safe... I have lived in this city and been going to that mall my whole life. Nothing has ever happened to me. There have been some isolated violent things happen in the surrounding area of the Eaton's centre but really nothing you should worry about if you are shopping inside the mall.

No, it is not dangerous, as long as you stay inside the Eaton Centre. Generally that area surrounding the Eaton Centre is pretty monitored, by police, etc, so you should be fine, but I would suggest that you stay inside the Eaton Center, since I have heard that the section behind it that connects to Dundas St, is not that safe...just a heads up.

Take care!

Only at night Downtown Toronto is dangerous.
Just don't go down spooky allies or stuff -- have a head on your shoulders!

I've been to the Eaton Centre a kazilion times! It is by far not dangerous at all! Go with a few pals and have fun! :)
When you see the sun setting though, you better head home. :)
Especially if you're walking home.

green sky means run
Sometimes. I'm not Canadian but I have known of many jamaican kids who have shot or stabbed people down by the eaton center and on Queen Street and Yonge. It's unfortunate.

Just don't go there by yourself. It's still Canada – not New York – but stuff does happen. Go to Yorkdale mall or Square One instead.
