lol I believe 99% of Canadians DO have access to electricity except Amish people or some other people who wish to live w/out certain machines such as a fridge, dishwasher, microwave,TV etc. for religious and/or some other purpose

On the surface some people might say "What a dolt" or "Are you kidding" but it is actually a good question. The answer though is no. The absolute huge majority of Canadians do have access to electricity. Remember, probably 85% of our population lives in the belt of geography that runs no farther north than about 300 kms (200 miles) of the border with the U.S., so that means that much of the Canadian population lives in conditions very similar to the people of Washington, Idaho through to New York and Maine. The people who do not have access to the electrical grid live in the remote regions of the North and coastal areas. Also, some smaller settlements in the interior of the country often are not connected to the power grid. Often, however, that does not mean they are totally without electricity. Many people have power generators that they use for part of the day. In fact, my nephew and his wife live about 45 minutes out of a major city in the interior of British Columbia (and about 15 minutes off a major road, and they use a generator. Electricity is available but it would be very expensive to hook up, so they are happy with part time service. So to answer your question . . . yes, nearly everyone has access, but a small percentage do not, and they generally live in more remote places.

There are some remote places where the electricity comes from a town gas or diesel generator.

Arctic Wolf
Almost all Canadians have access to electricity. In the far north they have it, but it is powered by a generator and do not have power lines heading there from the south. They need to live in a town or have there own generator. There are people who live without electricity ,but they do it by choice.

Yes, most Canadians have access to electricity from various sources such as hydro-electricity produced by water powered turbines, wind powered turbines, coal or natural gas burning generating stations and in some of the remote communities, gasoline or diesel powered generators.
