I've worked with and met a number of Brazilians in good-paying positions so of course they have access to them.
Just so you know the majority of Canadians have the utmost respect for all cultures - this being said though, immigrants usually have to work harder than their established Canadian counterparts (particularly at the beginning - often a frustrating time, especially since many begin in rather poor-paying positions when they arrive) to get a good-paying job (just because of language, qualifications equivalency, culture shock, etc.)

I work closely with a Brazilian - a very capable person.

If someone is not a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, they will have to apply for a work permit. As in most countries, the laws governing work visas are complex and are intended to admit people with skills and experience that are in short supply in Canada to do work which utilizes those skills.

I am Canadian and I have never met a Brazilian I did not like. But as some others have mentioned, you will have racists just about anywhere you go.

If you are planning to come to Canada for work or as an immigrant, you should review the Canada Immigration website, and learn more about the trades and skills that are in demand in Canada. Also, verify if your diploma or accreditation is considered valid in Canada.

Many immigrants leave their countries to come to Canada and try to make a "better" life for themselves or their children, but they arrive thinking that Canada will just hand them money and land just for being here. This is not going to happen. You must work like the rest of us.

An immigrant may have been a doctor in Iran or Venezuala, but find out that their diploma is not recognized by the Canadian medical society, and so they are not allowed to practice until they get recognized here, which may mean extra schooling.

The biggest hurdle for Brazilians I would think is coming from a Portugese-speaking country and then being immersed in a country that only speaks English or French. Being understood can be frustrating on both sides (for you and for someone talking to you) if you do not speak at least one of Canada's official languages.

If someone doesn't hire a person because of their country of origin they are 'RACISTS" they are also in violation of the law and can be severely punished. I know that Brazilians are as trust worthy as anyone else...but then I'm not a bigot or racist. ARE YOU?

I am Canadian and my brother is married to a Brazilian. Love her to death, she's great. They met while she was working in Canada as an occupational therapist and made a good living. I also know a few of their friends who are also Canadian and Brazilian couples.
Some are their friends are working here as: psychiatrist, dental surgeon, manager of a car dealership...They are all doing well and I don't think much thought was given to their country of origin. It is qualifications that are important.
