Legal age for anything in Ontario is 19.
If you exchange your money do it at the Casinos on the Canadian side, they offer the best rates above the bank and booth at the end of the bridges. Also when you leave to go back to the U.S. you can just exchange your cash back to American Currency inside the casino as well.
With the U.S. Dollar being so weak you want to pinch every penny of premium that you get over the Canadian Dollar since it is so close in value now as opposed to the past.
Another idea is just use your Credit Cards, they have the exact exchange rate on any given day and only charge 1-2% of the transaction. So if you use your Visa or Master card to guy a value meal @ a fast food place and it comes out to $7.00 your Credit Card company is going to charge you .07 cents, so it may work out less than an ATM cash withdrawl. That way you won't be stuck with any leftover Canadian money when you come back home. |

They do take American currency. However, each store/restaurant will have their own exchange rate, so you could be getting gypped. Now the rate is about $1US to $1.07 Canadian.
The drinking age in Ontario is 19. If you go to different provinces, it will be different.
If you're driving to Canada, no, you do no currently need a passport.
Have fun! |

Dont worry, there is still lots to do in Niagara falls without drinking.
You do not need a passport to cross the border in a car, just a drivers licence, but that will change soon.
Have fun on your trip |

No passport required if driving until next year. Legal drinking age and for gambling as well is 19, so you're in luck. Bring a birth certificate along to be on the safe side.
Canada gladly accepts USD. One USD is worth .94 Cdn. |

Yes, many of the bordering cities in Canada have many establishments that will accept US currency. However, be careful that many times they will not give you the exchange rate meaning you have just paid 15% more. Casinos actually love this as they make money immediately. For a small fee (usually $5), it pays to convert your US currency into Canadian.
No, you don't need a passport. However, you do need a government issued ID and a Department of State official proof of application for a passport. This will be through September 30, 2007. |

Yes - they accept US currency.
They've temporarily relaxed the passport requirement - I believe you need your driver's license and a copy of your passport application until September because of the backlog. After that, you need a passport.
