The beavers I recently have been in contact with are fashion conscious with the rest of North America and are either fully or partially shaved/trimmed. . . . ;0)

With the advent of cheap laser hair removal all the "beavers" have beem made smooth and hairless. It's a golden age for smooth beavers.

They have fur not hair. Yes in the wild there are vast numbers of them. Due to the anti-fur movement the price of beaver pelts is very low the last time I heard. Because of this trappers have been trapping few beaver and the numbers have grown. They can be a real pest. The will chew down trees at your lake-front cottage. Make dams that flood roads etc.
