Yep we speak English as a first language in Toronto,Ontario. Do you speak English in D.C ? If you don't then you will need a dictionary "your local language to English" cause we speak English only. |

Uhh, are you serious? We speak English. French is spoken in the province of Quebec.
We write using British English. So words like "colour", "favourite" and "centre" may look foreign to you. |

Yes, they speak English in Canada as well as French. Western Canada was settled by the British and Eastern Canada was settled by the French. They speak English across the country though. You should be fine. Have fun! |

If you are visting Toronto the main language is English. But because there are so many immagrants people speak a vast variety. The second language is french. But that is mostly found in Quebec. In B.C lots of people speak chinese.
Canada varies greatly.

Canadians speak Esperanto as their primary language except those in Quebec who speak Mandarin but with a different accent than you'd find in China. Typically Canadians will be able to speak English so you should be able to get by.
Here are a few helpful phrases if you want to impress your hosts:
"Please take me to my hotel" - Gheenaj takk tonar reencha haraka.
"How much is that?" - Spaceeba shaken to hoken?
"I'm not from around here." - I'm an American that really doesn't understand how the world works so wind up asking stupid questions about things that are rather obvious.
In other words, Canadians speak English unless you go to Quebec in which case they speak primarily French. |

Are you joking? Of course people in Toronto speak Torontonesian. It is a combination of Pekinese and the Uruguay language. The rest of Canada speaks Yiddish. |

Toronto is a bilingual city (majority English) then I think that it's better to know some sentences with the local language!

They speak english, but they also speak french and inuktitut in the North
I suggest you learn few phrases in all those languages, be careful everything is going to be in english or french, so in order to read both versions you need to know both languages |
