Do you believe that Canada is all ice and snow?

Some people do... The front page of my local paper (Western Canada) showed a young family in shorts and tshirts making sand castles on the beach.

I live in Canada and want to help dispell that myth.

yes and we all live in Igloos, drinking beer, watching hockey,...shouting eh?....and we've never seen summer or grass! or that we live in the forest so we are all lumber jacks too in the summer time!

hahahaha......what a joke!

P.S. I'm from Toronto....and laugh my *** off when people tell me what their ideas of Canada is.......
They also think it's some small dinky country....
so when they hear I'm from Toronto.....they will say oh I know so and so from Alberta do you know them?......hahaha
some people are REALLY ignorant!

Don't dispell the myth!!!! I have gotten really good at keeping a straight face when they ask about my igloo.

In all seriousness I had a young man in Texas ask me why we didn't speak French if we were Canadian and then after what was apparently a few moments of very deep thought, he asked in that southern drawl, "Does it ever get warm up there"?

Church Music Girl
Nope, and I never have. I used to think that all of Canada had freezing, icy winters, but I've learned a bit better since I started dating a Canadian.

If you believe that we live in igloo's and use dog sled's to get around well then do I have a deal for you. How about ocean front property in Dundalk. lol I have met people before who do believe this. I recall one describing me what shorts were. That one was a swift one. But ya know like the other person said why tell them the truth. We could keep the best stuff to ourselves. Have a great day. Oh and by the way it is snowing in Ontario where I am. Keep smiling.

No! I live in Toronto, and this past summer some days felt like 40 degrees CELSIUS.

It can be cold in the winter-- but certainly not permafrost! Lol.

You have to ask an American if he thinks that the USA is bigger than Canada. Oh, they are so embarrassed (and some won't believe) that Canada is actually larger than the US. LOL

richelle_la_belle
Only from November to March, then it begins to melt.

Not at all.

LUCIFER
Well this past summer here in Northern Ontario was crazy hot. It hit about 35 celcius for a few weeks straight. But some people will always believe we are all snow covered and ride dog sleds to work. Ignorance will persist.

jmdanial
NO.

Mark T
When i was a kid, i had that misconception.
after entering college i met many canadians and learnt otherwise.
however, where i currently am (singapore), that misconception still widely exists. people are so ignorant these days.

I don't believe that it is legal to wear shorts in Canada the temperature there never gets above 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Please stop lying.
