We do celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada (and we have much to be thankful for) but we don't celebrate on the same day as the US does. Thanksgiving in Canada is in October, instead of November.
Likely the reason for that is that Thanksgiving used to be tied to harvesting, and as the weather gets colder earlier in Canada, the harvest was brought in earlier, and the thanksgiving festival was also earlier.
Whatever the reason, it's a lovely time of year and in Canada, it often falls in what we call Indian Summer -- those last, lovely warm days before winter sets in. |

2nd Monday in October. It's not at all the deal it is in the US though (as I learned, for example, when I got a call asking why I hadn't shown up for work that day).
