While many people in Ontario speak French, only about 5% of the population of Ontario is francophone. So in terms of communicating in a day to day environment you will not need to know how to speak French. Many people do find it is a little bit easier to get a job if you speak French, especially a government job, but really you will be just fine without it.

Here's a list of all universities in Ontario - http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general/list/univers.html
Some are much smaller than others, but you will definitely be able to find the program you are looking for. All applications to universities in Ontario are processed by the same place: http://www.ouac.on.ca/

I live in Ontario, and no, you don't. There are some places that use more French than others - such as Ottawa, or MONTREAL, which is pretty much french.

I know basic french and I get along just fine without using it at all. It is a neat language though and can help you get better jobs and its a good skill to have.

Check on Google for Universities in Ontario and check out their websites. They should tell you if you can take a course such as that.

No, only need to speak French in Quebec.

TayTay
You do not need to know french befor moving to Ontario. Although if you want to move to Qubec you may want some french lessons. ( not many people in Ontario talk french but students from gr. 4 - gr.9 need to learn it for some resson..!)

Ok, I live in Ontario and I don't know who these people are, but you do NOT need French whatsoever. Its HELPFUL if you're in the northern part of ontario near the Quebec border, but even there, everyone knows English too. I know a few people fluent in French, as jobs pay much more if you're bilingual, but for every day life, I have never NEVER used french or even heard anyone who speaks solely French living around here.
If you're looking for a good University, try University of Western Ontario in London. Its a great school, not too huge, but not a small school either. Its really a beautiful campus with alot of upgrades, and housing is quite cheap here.. If you're looking to rent, you can get a cheap 1bdrm appartment (like half a house) for under $500, I'm currently renting a 3 storey house, 4 bedrooms, 3 bath, for 1175/month and that includes all my utilities. The city is big enough to have everything you would want in a city from shopping to concerts to nightlife and services, but small enough that its easy to get around and pretty and etc. If you need any more info feel free to contact me, I can even tell you the best area in the city or tell you about other areas around Ontario.
And again, you do NOT need french!

Karen L
You absolutely do not need French to live in Ontario. If you don't know a single word of French, you'll never know the difference. There are parts of northern Ontario where a large part of the population has French as a first language, and may speak English with an accent, but English is spoken everywhere.

In Ontorio only a minority of 5 % of the inhabitants speaks french. The rest English. Going to Quebec you may need some french.

More than likely the French that you learned would not be the French that is spoken in Ontario or Quebec. In fact the Quebec French is different from a lot of the small french areas of the rest of Canada...very territorial. No there is no law stating that you have to speak french,,,I was born and raised in Ontario and do not speak French. I am sure that you can find a Uni that has courses in Wildlife biology, Toronto certainly has a number of universities, as well as London ont. You would have to check them all out to see what best suits you for courses.

actually the majority of poeple are very affluant in both french and English.Been to Canada many times and have never had a problem with the language or currency.

Lovely
There's no law to state that you must, but it would sure make life a lot easier for you.

Cliphead909
Well, you don't have to but it really would help.
I went there two years ago and very few people were talking english so i was like what?
