Do you like Canada? |
I'm a Canadian, and I've heard many other countries like us. As we are so multicultural, I have the privelege of knowing many Europeans and they really like it here. But what makes Canada so likeable? I mean like I would LOVE to see all of Europe, and maybe buy a home there, but I could never leave my homeland permanently..what makes us attract so many people of other nationalities? Personelly, I consider I feel honoured that people would leave there homes to come here Please, if you are from far away, tell me what you think. What makes you like Canada? (If you do like it. If you don't, the please just don;t answer. Thanks.) |

I was born in Romania, but I immigrated in Canada at the age of 12, and I believe people like Canada, because of its wonderful topography, and all the vegetation and just the beautiful landscape. Also I think people like this country because of the diverse multiculturalism.
That's what I believe. |

I LOVE canada! i just went there on vacation this summer. it's SO great! my cousin and i even talked about moving there! everyone is SO nice, and it's very clean in Toronto (where we were staying) i live near chicago and toronto has the same appeal as chicago with the big building and the city life, but it never feels congested. it's nice how the city doesn't feel like a tourist spot, but a home too. Toronto is awesome! i hope to go back really sooN! hope this helps! |

I LOVE Canada! But mainly because I have a lot of family over there -- in the Toronto area -- and I visit 2-3 times a year. I'm coming from Los Angeles, so it isn't a cheap ticket over there either. But family aside, the weather is fantastic there (except for winter) and the scenery is beautiful! The Canadians I have met and interacted with are generally nice, intelligent, and overall good people. For example, Canadians don't honk their horns at me because it takes me slightly longer than 0.0000001 second to go when the light turns green. |

LOVE the place! All that wide open space, clean air, and variability...-it makes me long for the Time when the U.S. was like that..! (Oh, & the people are pretty nice- too!). |

Im a Canadian and I wouldnt ever want to live anywhere else. I find that the apnosphere here is alot more open than in the US. (No Offence to any Americans about this Entry) When we went back to school shopping, we travelled down to Bellis Fair Mall in Washington, just down in Bellingham. And the most thing I remembered was just the attitude in the fitting rooms.. The days before I went to American Eagle and Old Navy here in Surrey (Vancouver suberbs) and the people were very enthusiatic and encouraging when you tried on items, they got you different sizes if you needed them and were asking you how was it going, they even were commenting on the pricing and quality of the clothing! But when I went down to the States, I found that the people seemed as if i wasnt welcome or something, I figured it was because I wasnt wearing my "Fit - In" clothing, and I dont have a six pack, but I went into Hollister and the entry people didnt welcome me (as they did with everyone else) they didnt help me at all, even though they werent busy, and the folding people gave me the longest stares ive ever seen. It was even worse in A&F they just completly ignored me. And that kinda pissed me off. Not saying that all americans are like that but I tend to find that the ones I met were alot more focused toward their goals in life than to help a fellow human being =( 2 other things i hated were the 3 hour Border line ups and that they dont have non taxable youth clothing >=O |

I am an American married to a Canadian. We are in the US primarily b/c my husband works in banking and there are just more opportunities for him in the US. That being said, I love Canada!
We were at my in-laws in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON for Labor Day (or Labour Day) weekend and had a wondeful time. We did not make it to Toronto this time. I have spent as lot of time in Toronto (where hubby is originally from) and have also been to Windsor, Montreal and Ottawa. What I like about Canada is that people seem to be concerned more for their fellow man. There is not the same degree of "lloking out for yourself" as there is in the US. I also think that Canadian cities and towns are cleaner and people take more pride in home ownership. People are friendly and on good terms with their neighbors (or neighbours). Canadians also seem more concerned about the environment. |

i love Canada. but, i would NEVER give up my country (USA) to live anywhere else permanently. what i like about Canada is the fresh air, wide open spaces, and yes there is a European feel with Quebec and the French and English histories. i think Canada is appealing because of the government benefits and the care it takes of its citizens. also, crime isn't as prevalant as it is in the US. |

Yes, I do like Canada. I moved here almost thirty years ago with my husband, young baby and three suitcases!
We came here for a better life and that is what we have had here. When we left England the economy there was really bad. My husband was a Police Officer in the UK and when we came here he doubled his income at his new job and we were able to save money for a down-payment on a house.
We lived very frugally for several years, but we had paid off our mortgage in about 12 years.
I now live in St Thomas, Ontario, which is a great place to live. The town is small enough to be friendly, yet large enough to have good schools, a hospital, an airport, lots of affordable housing and I love it here.
The population density of Ontario is low compared to the UK at around 36 people per square mile - compared to England which has a population density of 976 per square mile!
My children are now grown and I have grand-children and I know that my children had a better life and more opportunities here in Canada than if they had stayed in the UK.

I personally don't like Canadians. How can you trust them with their beady eyes and their floppy heads. Just kidding. I think that many countries like Canada because you are almost like the U.S. but you don't have a lot of the bureaucratic bullshit like we have here. You all have health care and you just seem to be very happy. A lot of famous comedians are Canadians, plus Alex Trebek. Who wouldn't like you. |

Canada is good because here in the US we use it to fill up the space between Michigan and the North pole. It also is used to hold Alaska in place, and to keep Niagara Falls from running off to one side.
I'm just joking, but I have read statistics that show that if you count reserves, Canada has the biggest army by far of any country in the world, probably to repel any surprise Eskimo invasion.
It would be a different story if you had Mexico hanging off your southern border. You would all have to give up French and English and speak Spanish instead. |
