Canadians are able to make fun of themselves a lot easier than americans are so yes it does make Canadians look stupid but that is half of the humour in the show.

It is a funny show. I don't think it makes Canadians look simple. It makes them look rather brilliant for making such a great comedy. I have so many different laughs from that show.

Honestly I don't find it funny.
I've been told however this is because I'm a city slicker. If I were a little more rustic then I'd be closer to the target demographic.

Red Green take all the stereotypes of "Redneck" Canadians(not a negative term chill out) and put it together to create a ridiculous show.
Personally I don't watch it cuz the jokes aren't all that funny most of the time but I'm getting a good laugh at the fact that some americans actually watch it. It's awsome!
I prefer the show "Trailer Park Boys". Now that's a real Canadian show.... you should check it out.
