Not at all - the transit system is easily accessible and many streetcars/buses run into the early morning hours or all night in some cases. You can also walk or take a taxi to most places if you like.

No it's quite the opposite. If u live in the GTA you need a car but if you live downtown than taking street cars and the subway is more conveniant and easier.

Karen L
No, and in many neighbourhoods parking one is a major nuisance.

No! The transit system is great and necessities are close together. For groceries, you might shop frequently or you might take a taxi home from the store. It is often cheaper to rent a car for occasional weekends than to pay all the expenses of operating a car downtown, including parking.

The World Traveler
No, Toronto has a big public transportation system (subways, street cars, buses, commuter trains to the suburbs), the PATH and everything is very close. If you just stay in downtown you don't need a car. Also the traffic there is horrible you're better off walking or using public transit.

No, public transit is great in toronto.

Not really. There's a nice bus and subway system that sprawls the downtown quarter. There are underground pathways that link the surface and the subway stations and there are streetcars. The streetcars go underground in certain areas, like subways.

If you live in downtown Toronto and work in downtown Toronto, you can get along very nicely without a car.

I know a few people that live and work in the GTA that don't own a car. The TTC and GO systems are quite good, and they find they only need to rent a car when going out of town for the weekend, etc.

Alexis
No, Toronto has a really great public transit system. I find it's easier to take the bus than to drive because of traffic congestion.

FeatherHead
No...there is a great transit system....

Lush C
To the contrary I really dont think you do.. I mean parking alone is a hassle and the street cars are quick and easy to use..

jessiedevy
NO.

I've lived in Toronto all my life and don't drive. The best way to get around downtown is to use public transit. It is fast, safe, and easy to use. Get more info here:
