By air you do. Driving over the border you don't - right now. I went to Canada (crossing from Detroit into Windsor) last week and coming back into the US I asked the agent when the passport is necessary. He told me the end of January they are going to start asking for them. |

you need a drivers license and a birth certificate and that'll get you through the border.
however if you plan to fly then you need a passport.
it's best to have a passport either way though, just makes it easier!
Congrats! Where do you want to get married in Canada? Maybe I can give you some ideas for Honeymoons if you're staying in Canada for that too... |

As of now, you do not need a passport to enter Canada, US, Mexico, Bermuda & the Caribbean if you are going by LAND Or SEA, only if you are going by AIR. But as of Summer 2008, a passport will be required. |

If you fly from outside of Canada, then yes you do!! But if you drive across the boarder, then a birth certificate is fine.
Trust me!! I'm a Canadian citizen, who lives in the USA, and flies home *ALL* the time!!
Hugs & Happy New Year!

HI, MY FIANCEE'S DAD IS TELLING ME THAT THEY ARE REALLY "CRACKING" DOWN ON CROSSING INTO US FROM CANADA. HE SAID I NEED A PASSPORT.
IF I DON'T, HE SAYS I'LL GET QUESTIONED ALOT.
SO I SUGGEST, YES GET A PASSPORT. YOU WOULDNT WANT TO GET STUCK LONGER THEN YOU NEED IN CANADA.
CONGRATS ON THE WEDDING! |

Nope. You can still go to Canada without a passport or visa. You need ID though to cross back and forth. |
