Not really (from last I heard), you'd only need proof of your citizenship. But if you ask me, better bring your passport. You'll never know. |

When you are a US citizen and have a valid US drivers license, then NO. |

currently, just an ID and proof of us citizenship. But starting jan 1st 2008 (possibly later but likely that is the first day) you will need one to drive across the border. Starting this jan, you will need one for flying into cn. |

Not yet, but coming soon. What you do need is proof of citizenship, and picture ID. |

Nope, just proof of US residency, such as birth certificate, social security card, or a passport will also work. |

So far...no. If you were flying, in the new year you will need one. They keep changing everything, so call a travel agent to be sure you have everything in order about a week before you go.
Keep in mind photocopies arent accepted as ID; some people try and use photocopies of birth certificates and they are not accepted. |

No, just a proof of your US residency. |

You will need one to re-enter, without a lot of hassle, in the future. On the theory that conterfeiting passports is not as hard as faking other documents :P |
