Do you suppose?

i was thinking.. now i don't know the stats.. (so i am assuming)
because of our laws on marjiuna are more relaxed then in the states..
do you think thats why we have far less violent crimes than the states?
i mean every day on cnn you hear of someone getting shot.. someone killed.. someone getting robbed..and here in canada it seems few and far between (i mean i know it happens just not as often)..

I understand that Pot is a "Happy Drug," but there are far less people in Canada than there are in the US, therefore, there is far less crime.

I think our media does not glorify murder and wrong doings as the US media does. This glorificatin puts a kind of scare into Americans so they are really afraid to go and do anything and maybe for some it is not Afraid it is they are always on there guard. Yet in Canada we are aware of what is around us but we do not assume the guy across the room is out to kill us. I know our violent crimes are down and I want to say a joke and say we are all out getting drunk and dont have time to commit any, but I think the real answer is here in Canada we are not all out for ourselves as a lot are in the US. I was born in Florida and lived there most my life and when I came to Canada it was a while before I could understand not everyone here was looking to kill, rob or disfigure my family or me. Even now when I go to the US when I return back to Canada there is a feeling that is unexplainable I feel inside a kind of relief that I am back on a safe and friendly soil. Thank you Canada and Canadians for making me feel safe.

Marijuana doenst make u go "psycho", if anything it mellows you out. From what I've know most violent crimes are related to cocaine and crystal meth use. Also, the USA puts more emphesis on violent crime in their media then Canada does.

Oh, yeah, it's because everyone's high all the time. NOT. It's because Canada has outlawed handguns, and the US has constitutionally protected gun ownership. Crimes of passion will always use the most convenient weapon, which in the US seems to be the gun.

no, i never suppose

We have better gun laws. We do not think its our God given right to bear arms. The situation gets right down to that.

We have better social systems too. Yes we have street people, despite our welfare system. But when was the last time you heard of a family living in their car in Canada? No way, we have a structure that gives people a hand when they are down.

The US has people far wealthier than we do in Canada. Unfortunately they have far more poverty as well. Canada is a middle class society, on the whole. Because there is less class differences, there is less need to kill each other in anger or to get ahead.

Ok, the reason for that is, Americans are assholes. You know that melting pot thing? Complete bullshit, everyone hates everyone in this country and thats why it ******* sucks.
