Each immigrant has the possibility to lead a decent life. The government has set up agencies to assist in the transition for these people, such as learning language skills.
What the people do with the opportunity to live a decent life is another matter.
Usually, the first-generation immigrants have to sacrifice a lot. The second-generation and the generations following it reap the benefits from foundation set by the first-generations. |

Its possible, however sad it may be, they dont seem to want to learn the language. They need to realize that they need to conform to Canada. Not the other way around. |

it does not matter their race or culture..
so what if the person is INDIAN every one has that chance !
I have to agree with explorer though I have heard many indians say they will not conform to the canadian way of life...
which I don't understand ...then why come to CANADA to be Canadian and experience our equal freedon and pleasures.
I heard two indians at work talking about it .actually the indian guy told the woman then go back to INDIA !
Had to agree with him .She felt indians should have their own
organizations/hospitals and schools here so that the kids do not simlaute canadian culture |

Few good answers above one thing i have no doubt abut is that u have to scarify a lot ,Ur next Gen ration might be able to live the life u r dreaming ,and this can only happen if u take very good care of Ur kids and keep an eye on their activities after 7Th grade.
As i witness lot of people from our origin they came here worked really hard did blue collar jobs etc for living and having no time for kids and the result ...........
so at the end of the day they might have few extra bucks in the bank ,but their next Gen ration became GAY , Lesbian or addicted
so think a lot before making any move |

Yes, I have seen first hand their life after arriving in Canada. But it is just not Indians who strive to make a decent life in Canada. Like the other poster said, depending on how old they were when they came here, and what kind of sacrafices they want to make.
For many, they realize that life is potentially better, but they will have to work harder than they did in their old country. |

Yes and it would be better than some other countries. |

Yes, the imigration process may be long, but you would have a good life here. I have lived in Canada for thirty years and it has been a great place to live and raise my family.
Good Luck & Welcome! |

The ones that I have met here in Canada are doing very well. Some are multi-millionaires. They are a very enterprising race, when they apply themselves. |

I think there are three things that will make a big difference - your fluency in English, Canadian work experience and acknowledgement of your educational credentials from foreign universities. These are the three things that immigrants say are the biggest barriers to achieving their dreams in Canada. It will really depend on what you imagine for yourself here, what you want. |
