It's not the law, but a good idea to carry one. All you need is picture I.D. and birth certificate. |

If you are from the USA, you don't need a passport yet. It will probably come soon, but not until Bush insists Canadians have a passport to get into the US.
Passports don't keep out terrorists. Terrorist organizations have expert counterfeiters and can produce passports that can fool any border crossing guard. They would be much better off to move to eye scans to authenticate the identity of people. Or a DNA sample. Those are things that can't be faked. |

You don't need a pass port to go from US to Canada, yet. As it stands right now, law goes into effect in 2007 .... and it isn't to get IN to Canada ... but rather, you will need a passport to get BACK IN to the US! Canadians will need a passport to get in to the US then. |
