Do you think it is cold in Canada all year?

I know this girl from Kentucky and she said that at her school her teachers told her that it was as cold as the Antartica in Canada and that there were Penguins in peoples back yards!

So... if you are American do you think it is cold all year in Canada??

No. It gets warmer in parts of Canada than it does in parts of the US.

Penguins live in Antarctica only. The only place as cold as Antarctica is Antarctica.

Its cold in Canada all year round the same way that every American has a rebel flag and a gun rack in the back window of his pickup and says "Y'all" all the time.

She should report her teachers to the school board for being stupider than dirt.

Your friend is messing with you, then again, she is from Kentucky. So maybe.... :p LMAO

Okay, um.... no, I don't think that. Mainly because my house is about 3 miles away from Canada on the US side, and I do not have this preconceived notion that in the summer it could be 80°F at my house, and then right at the US-Canadian border the temperature drops 50°F and starts snowing year-round.

It's Kentucky. Inbreeding produces idiots.

Ugh, that's ridiculous. I live in Canada and in a fairly northern region as well. We have four distinct seasons, and while it snows more here than in the US, and our winters are colder, we have warm springs, cool falls, and summer is hot (it gets around 35 degrees celcius here, don't know in Fahrenheit sorry).

Oh, and I've never even seen a penguin. Wtf.

That's just ignorance on the teacher's part!! I'm from Canada and I've yet to see a penguin in my back yard. Would be pretty neat though hahaha I love penguins!!

Punch her in her jujunum. Honestly she's probably a beav anyways. It's way hotter in canada than in some places in the USGAY in the summer

Harold
ITS NOT ALWAYS WINTER IN CANADA WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS THINK THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mathew H
I have a hard time believing a teacher would actually believe that stuff....

Americans mess with Canadians alot, I highly doubt many of them actually think it's a polar ice cap up here.

Although travelling anywhere (not just the USA), the typical stereotype for Canada is simply "cold".

I just talked to my friend in British Colombia yesterday. It was 65 degrees for a high and she was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. So do not you think she would have preferred 85 degrees in St. Petersburg, Florida. The answer to your question is no. When Yahoo learns how to spell St. Petersburg, Florida, I will be amazed. I thought we had some really smart people taking a look at this.
