by and large pick any city street in Canada and you'll wind up with 10 different etnicities so no we dont have ghettos in that sense that if your a certain nationaility or whatever you live in a certain area,. We do have areas were certian ethnic backgrounds like to settle ... in vancouver here we have a large chinese community in Richmond (over 50%) and a large Punjabi regions in parts of Surrey. There is no problem with others who may choose to live in those areas but shops, signs etc cater to the target group.
The closest thing we have to a true ghetto is the Jane/Finch corriidor of Toronto. That area was a government project housing situation gone very bad and certain ethnicities entrenched there. Its a bad area and definately would qualify for the moniker ghetto

Yes... a ghetto is just a poorer community in the middle of a predominantly wealthy place… Canada is mostly euro-Americans so that is the race that fills those ghettos... and like America many minorities. its a little know fact that there are more poor white people in the U.S. than any other race. In 2012 whites will be a minority |

its just poorer areas where the average salary is very low. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of different races that occupy them. Its not like in New York. |

Lol yes, we do have ghettos, every single large city has them. Just so you know, we are not extremely nice, we are just above average lol. As far as the races that "predominately occupy them" it includes many culture, from Chineses to blacks-only exception is white people. We don't have that many white people, and out of the ones we do, they are mostly rich members of Parliament, so they don't live in ghettos. |
