Does anyone else get sick of telling Americans that we don't get winter all year around in Canada?

Also, most Americans think we don't have 24hours a day. And they think Toronto is the capital of Canada && more other stuff. My geography teacher showed my class this video on youtube, where this guy interviewed the Americans. FAIL, LMAOO. They didn't know shhh-it about Canada. Americans need to be taught a little more about Canada in schoools. It would help.

I'm an American and I live in the Pacific Northwest. Other Americans think we are either all cowboys up here or fur trappers. I feel for you, I honestly do.

I live on the west coast, and what gets me is that the number of Americans have colder a winter than me is 5 to 10 times the whole population of Canada.

Yep, I do get sick of that. I found one site on outside solar lamps that said they were no good for Canada because it was dark all winter. Funnily enough, mine work all winter and it is a beautiful sunny day today. Yes, it does p*ss me off!

In my experiences there are idiots on both sides of the border. Lots of CAnadians feel the need to villify Americans, and lots of Americans simply just don't know anything about Canada.

These are the same types of peopel that think all of Alberta and Texas are rednecks and cowboys, that weather somehow stops at the 49th parallel, and who live in NY but feel that Southern Ontario is part of the Arctic.

I can assure you... the majority of people on both sides of the border are not that stupid. It just reflects alot more on forums like this becuase this is where they have an opportunity to ask questions.

Keep in mind there's lots of young pups that come on here too, so you can't be too harsh on them.

Its a bit annoying when some Americans say that Canada is always so cold and snowy. But, something I really hate is when they say that we live in igloos.

Really? Think "Texas". Cowboy hats and boots come to mind? What percentage of Texans do you think that describes? Do you know, within an order of magnitude, the average annual rainfall/snowfall in Houston, Dallas and Lubbock? No? Then why do you suppose that someone who lives nowhere near the Canadian border, has no particular reason to know anything about Canada and has never been here should be in any way knowledgeable about this country? I'm sick and tired of my fellow Canadians' attitudes in this regard, not of correcting any misconception about this country which foreigners might have.

Get a grip and realize someone may just be yanking your chain. How do you know they are Americans? Are you just assuming? Maybe they are from the South and don't understand what cold really is. Not the Fallen: the same can be said about Americans beating Canadians in baseball, basketball (Canadian invention, right?), and every Olympic sport. Michael Phelps: 8 Gold medals, Canada: 5. Better scenery? Have you been to Hawaii, California, Colorado, Florida, etc.? I guess not...

I'm of 2 minds on this subject:

One side - yes I get sick of those people in the US that think that us Canuckleheads have dog sleds to get to work, wear flannel every day, eat nothing but maple syrup and backbacon, and everything is hockey, hockey, hockey.
If they really p#ss me off then I'll make fun of their bad beer, needing a glowy puck to watch hockey, the fact we kick their **** playing hockey, our better scenery, rednecks from the South, and a myriad of other items. Honestly though, it really takes a lot to push me that far.

Other side - I usually just ignore those people and their ignorance. They don't represent the vast majority of great american people that I've had the pleasure to meet...from all over the US of A. And honestly they have some great microbreweries.

You can always tell them that because of the global warming their country is chiefly responsible for, we don't get snow in June anymore. Even the polar ice cap is melting, so it just goes to show!

While Americans can sometimes be ignorant, I'd say they are evenly balanced with intelligent people.

There is some truth to this; go to the northern territories, and there is basically year-round snow.

What Southern State do you live in? There are still negative temperatures on the weather forcast here... IT IS COLD. We have maybe 3 or 4 warm months the others are COLD.

Wake up. See some of the world THE AREA THAT IS WARM.. and reasssess your qeustion.

Its all the fat canadians that think it is warm, until they loose 50lbs and relize they were living a dream life.

Just look at a canadian channel you'll see negative temperatuers and 20s... even in the summer 30s is hot. Look at the US 60s 70s 80s... you cross that border and the temperatuers drops atleast like 40 degrees.

straight up when I get rich im moving to america cuz the weather in vancouver suks **** and its like the southest city in canada *** canadas weather is shitty and hurting compared to americas where its actually sunny most of the time if americas president hadnt fuked up so bad there country wud actually be way better than canada and if yur rich it doesnt matter and americas still way better shiet imagine sunshine all the time no ***** winter in march ye americas gonna be a great place to put my mansion and houses are WAYY cheaper in america u can get a 8 bedroom mansion for like 1-2 million in here u get a ***** 4 bedroom for that and yull have way less land shiet Canada does kinda suk and plus theres more white people in america and honestly the more asians the less chance of getting laid around here haha
