Does anyone else think Toronto sucks? |
I have been living in Toronto for the past 6 months (I am Australian) and I have to say I hate it - the city just doesn't gel with me for some reason and I have a feeling the whole place is based on nothing. I think I need to leave. Is Vancouver equally boring? |

Ive lived all over the country including Van city. Toronto is my fav city in Canada, there is by far more to do here than anywhere in Canada, something for everyone. I don't really know what your basing your hate of T.O off of." It just doesnt gel with me" is a pretty lame reason to hate somewhere, I mean at least give a real reason. Toronto is a vibrant metropolis and best for that in Canada. If you don't like the city than you wouldnt like it. If you think Toronto is boring you wont be happy anywhere in Canada. So quit complaining or move back down under. |

No, it doesn't suck and (though it might lack some antique history, or some architecture might be questionable), it's definitely not boring: you can find here whatever you are into, at any day of the week practically.
I guess you just don't really know this city, and judge it by a cover. Toronto is one of those cities you need to discover, it barely has a list of "prescribed" attractions or places to visit, but it has a lot of hidden gems.
Also, yes, some people don't fit places, and vice versa... The fact that you don't like some place doesn't make it better or worse, it doesn't make the place sucks, but it's not your place. Learn to love it or find another place. Good luck with that! |

i've lived in toronto about a year now, and i love it! I'm not sure what Vancouver is like. I would suggest visiting there before deciding to move, cuz you might hate it just as much or more. I would also suggest taking a look at Montreal. it kinda has an almost European feel to it, and speaking French isn't really an absolute necessity to survive there. |

Yeah ! I agree with you. Toronto sucks.
I've been visiting the city now for over 30 years for holidays to my wife's 3 sisters. They are married and settled there and live in very nice areas but it's still a grey old city. I've seen great changes over the years but the soul of the city is still dead. Sorry to upset the Canadians but it is still the poor relation to New York and Boston.
Before I'm set upon, I don't visit any more and the wife goes on her own twice a year. |
