West coast canada is breathtaking no doubt. But yes it sucks. I drove across the west coast of canada where the speed limit is like 80 km/hr (like 50 mph) acrueing speeding tickets throughout my whole trip (who is going to drive 2000 miles at 50!). Entering vancouver and the highway disappears. Ask directions from this 7 eleven person and he is like never heard of any highway anywhere nearby. He then takes out a map only to discover that the highway is just down the street a few blocks away.

I agree with Zeus.

The climate is a lot different and it would take some getting used to. However, if you really love her...

who ever told ya that load of crap, if you beleive that then you are very gullible. Canada is the greatest. Especially the East Coast. Cape Breton is called gods country, it is so peaceful , laid back, scattered with rolling hills , mountains , ocean and beaches...

vocky
Canada is nice. Never been to Hawaii. lets just say that Canada doen't really have a beach culture.

The west coast of Canada is very nice, and so is Montreal and Quebec City. The rest of Canada is a colder version of the US. Toronto, for example, is a junior Chicago with crappier architecture.

I don't think that Canada sucks bad. I think it is a nice country with very beautiful landscapes, mountainscapes, seascapes.

You don't have to know French unless you are moving to Quebec, then French is definately an asset.

It really all depends on what area of Canada you want to go too.

Are you planning on moving or just visiting?

NO don't move there unless you have been there to visit first...

dude canada is like the worst place to live, i have been there many times, its like 15 min. away from my house, i live in michigan. go visit it first. i hated it.

mystina777
Sure. You only live once.

Goddess of Grammar
I love Canada and don't know what's not to love. However, people who move there from hot places have a certain tendancy to complain about the weather in winter. Well, let me rephrase. Everyone complains about the weather in the winter, but people from hot places start complaining earlier and stop much later.

I'm thinking your girl would like to move to Hawaii though.

eiais
Well your question is really not that consistent, but I suppose you heard Canada sucks? They don't. It's a really great country, not exciting, but great. Free health care for all and everyone feels safe. How nice!

Stay in Hawaii and get another girlfriend

Hill&Dale
LOL, besided the fact that this type of question always causes emotional feelings to run high [either pro or con] I think you deserve a fair answer.

1] Moving to another country does NOT mean that you can no longer go back to your original place of residence. As one of the other people suggested...visit first.

2] Why not get a working visa, that lets you stay for both the gal & the finance. If one or the other doesn't pan out, then back to home base.

3] Hey, it may be a long process, but you could get dual citizenship.

4] Nova Scotia is fabulous in the short summertime. Horrid in the winter.

5] Toronto, *whispers* "ohhh, My", perhaps it is great if you love, just love large cities. Quirky weather.

All the best in your choice of future living.

Canada is a beautiful country populated by very friendly people. Very multicultural and tolerant of different cultures.

We enjoy 4 seasons, 3 of which are really good. The other one is good if you ski or snowmobile.

I agree with the previous respondent. Don't move anywhere until you have been there.

Annie
I use to live there, Canada's pretty cool :-p

Da Ben Dan
no canada doesn't suck..it's a great place..much safer than a lot of other countries

rachelspup
no, canada is beutiful. I went ther on vacation and it was fantastic. it's even better if you know french.

Messdeck Annie
Well, I have to tell you, I have traveled the world over, been to Paris, London, Rome, New York, Munich, all the major cities in Canada as well as most of the islands in the Caribbean, but I was born and raised in Nova Scotia and I would not want to live anywhere else.

The people here are some of the friendliest in the world (and I know), the crime rate is very low, the climate is not that bad. Yes, January, February and March can be cold but not as cold as a lot of the Midwestern states. However, we also live about 20 minutes away a great skiing area. I live on the ocean, and there is not another house for miles around. I go canoeing every morning and sailing every day. There is nothing but green rolling farmland, beautiful forests and the warmest waters south of the Carolinas (because of the gulf stream). When you go to a beach here, you can spend the whole day and not see another person. The food here is fantastic and the cities are very cosmopolitan.

However, if peace and quiet and the unspoiled life are not for you, there are many areas where the population is much denser.

If you think you might want to move here, check out this website first but plan a visit before you make any commitment. Nova Scotia is beautiful but not everyone's cup of tea!
