Very few Americans really make ignorant comments about Canada. In YA we have a few trolls who do it either to get a reaction or because they don't know what they are talking about. Don't sweat the small stuff kiddo. If it is a troll - well it's always "Open Season" on them. If it is ignorance, educate them with facts. :o) |

I wouldn't take anything you hear on this site from the few american TROLLS who come in this section at face value. The majority of americans are good people. The sad few who come here and bad mouth a country they know nothing about, have nothing better to do. |

Cookie, when you hear such nonsensical put-downs realize these are coming from screwballs who judge all Canadians from some old movie. We too have our share of screwballs who are ready to make judgements of others based on their own warped logic and need to feel superior.
The U.S and Canada share the longest undefended border in the world. We fought wars side by side. We assist each other in times of emergency or peril and we speak a common language, we share trade. This in spite of a different forms of government.
If that is not enough to command respect for each other why are we the envy of the rest of the world.? |

I live in Louisiana and I hear great things about Canada , I am actually trying to move there! To me yall seem so much more calm and peaceful than most Americans, you never hear anything about yall in the news, seems like you don't have all the drama like we do!! LOL. |

Canadians write a lot of these jokes, like centrally heated igloos.
We are the True North strong and free, and we can take a joke. :-) |

A politician takes a cheap shot every so often but I doubt most of them ever think about us period. |

i don't live in american, but from what i have seen, heard, read, over my life, there seems to be some name-calling and story telling from some americans. i don't know why though, all the canadians i have met are lovely people and canada is a beatiful country. i'm sure some canadians are feral, like people of any country, but none i've met. |

Because you're too sensitive? Honestly who cares if they think we live with polar bears. If we were really fat and lazy and sitting around with polar bears, they would have eaten us by now. Besides there are a lot more fat Americans. Chin up! |

I believe that any American who has visited Canada feels it is a great place because we are more laid back, are friendly and have awesome outdoor recreation. Also they always remark on the cleanliness of our cities, Those who badmouth Canada have probably never visited. |

bc they're jealous, they can't understand why we're a sovereign nation living right beside them with a small population and limited military power and they haven't tried to attack us and take us over...they're confused and paranoid, just have pity.."but for the grace of god, there go I"... |

part 2 of your question......polar bears? igloos? r u sure they weren't getting your country mixed up with our 49th state which is alaska? :-) overall, american youth and a lot of adults do very well at playing sony playstation, but very poor when it comes to basic geography. next time someone makes a joke, put a smile on your face and ask them to name all 50 states and capitals of the USA and i assure you that 99.999% of them can't name them. okay i won't be as harsh. i'll go with 75% of americans. betteryet, a good comeback would be to ask them if they were stranded in the snow would they know how to make an igloo? i know it's colder than a mofo over there; i just never heard of the canada/igloo joke. hale, just blame it all on alaska:-) all canadians don't live in igloos, all blacks can't braid hair and some white people can dance:-)
i haven't a clue on what you r talking about. i live in the USA. honestly u all are soooooo close to us as we are to you that it's as if i am going to another state in the USA. i thought that it was really cool to go to quebec and they spoke french. when in the airport they spoke french and without me saying a word to them they begin speaking english. ( how did they know?) hales bells, we even have canadian bacon. :-) other than the ROTC jokes (ran off to canada; americans who during the vietnam war that didn't want to go, (and other wars too,) went to your country to seek refuge.) which hey, i think that's kind of noble of you all and i am military. anyway i really don't know what u r talking about. u all don't have an accent, and you you don't have a problem with having two languages in your country, which americans overall have a problem with. so now you have to give me an example of what kinda crap we say. |
