East Coast of Canada...Have you been?

I am going on a road trip with my hubby to East Coast Canada. We are so excited!!! Does anyone know of any must see tourist attractions out there? We aer going whale watching and of course going to the Bay of Fundy...can't believe 121 foot tidal waves, that will be awesome:) Let me know if you have any suggestions, thanks:)

Quebec has a lot of things to see and do there. There are a lot of museums in Hull and Montreal. I find a lot of the museums in the Ottawa-Hull area are really cheap if not free. There are also a lot of museums in Quebec City. Be sure to explore Old Quebec City as it contains a lot of history and culture. There's a lot of shopping and night life in Quebec City as well. For more tourist information visit http://www.bonjourquebec.com/qc-en/accueil0.html

New Brunswick is nice as well. Be sure to visit Magnetic Hill in Moncton. There are a lot of good seafood restaurants there that offer seafood at a reasonable price as well. Get more tourist info at http://www.tourismnewbrunswick.ca/

Prince Edward Island is beautiful. The nice thing about the island is that everything is only minutes or a couple of hours away. It doesn't take longer than a couple of hours to drive from one end of the island to the other. Anne of Green Gables fans will be in Anne of Green Gables Heaven as the island is full of Anne of Green Gables attractions including the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery which is open for visitors and the filming location of the Anne of Green Gables series. There are a lot of good seafood restaurants around and really nice beaches. There are a few really good trails for people who like horses and want to go trail riding. The Confederation Bridge is really fun to drive over and the view is fantastic. http://www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide/index.php3

Another nice thing to do is to take the cruise around Halifax Harbour. A visit to the Citadel is interesting too. There are lots of small shops at the historic properties at the waterfront in Halifax... and if you have time... go to Newfoundland !

Go to Peggy's Cove south of Halifax. A bit of a tourist trap but well worth it for the view. We liked Cavendish P.E.I. too. The bridge wasn't built when we went so we took the ferry.

You mean tides, not tidal waves. They aren't quite that high - 50 feet or so is the largest tide.
Bay of Fundy is a good choice (Hopewell Pots, Cape Split). Also try Cape Breton Island's Cabot Trail.

The Gaspe peninsula is a bit north of your visit to the Bay of Fundy, but easy enough to get to with a drive up Highway 11, then Autoroute 132. Doing that trip, you will visit most of the New Brunswick coastal towns and get to know some of the Acadian countryside.

I would also suggest Peggy's Cove. As already mentioned it is a tourist trap but I fell in love with this litle village when I was visiting the eatst coast.

Skip Peggy's Cove and go right to Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. All the sights, minus the tourist trap sensations.
