Emigrating to Canada?

I am considering emigrating to Canada from the UK. My wife is a practice nurse and I am an Engineer. I am not sure which state yet but considered Ontario Alberta or BC. Anyone have any particular advice. Thanks.

Life is pretty good in Canada. Ontario is a nice place but you can make a higher income in Alberta, albeit the living costs are high. For Ontario, you'd probably easily get the PEO designation (Professional Engineers of Ontario). I'm guessing you already have sufficient experience so all you'll need to do is write a dumb ethics/basic engineering test. Your wife will probably have to do something similar for her profession. I've never been out west but here in Ontario it's very nice.

If you're thinking Alberta, there are plenty of jobs and opportunities and the wages are much higher as well as the taxes are much lower...the downfall: housing is very expensive
BC: nicest climate, beautiful surroundings, ocean and mountains, housing comparable to that of Alberta but the wages are lower and taxes are higher
Ontario: wages and taxes similar to BC, cold in winter, hot in summer plenty of things to do, housing more affordable
I'd still go for BC..mild weather and breathtaking views everywhere + winter Olympics in 2 years:)

Ontario, Alberta and BC are Provinces, not States. The U.S. have States, maybe you should emigrate there(The US).

I haven't any advice on Canada, but if you are fairly young? I believe you will be making a good move from these shores.

I wish you both the very best of luck.

It's not easy to say like province A is better than province B but as a Torontonian, I would say Ontario, no hard feelings tho it's just my personal view

You'll find alot more jobs in Toronto than out west. Have a look at Workopolis.com for all the best jobs for both of you. Good luck.
