Yes, it's quite wierd. Technically we're getting more when we find american coins. =P Why did we have to make our coins the exact same colors, shape and size for each value?! And we even call it the same thing!! Penny, dime, nickel, and quarter...except you guys don't have loony and toonie. =P We should follow Europe's example and make a united North American Dollar. =D |

Yup. So far, I have saved US$121.78 to spend on slot machines when I go to Vegas :-p
When I was bartending, people used to tip us American coins to get rid of it. |

All the time!!
I also get Mexican pesos, coins from Austrailia & Barbados.
Same dimensions.
At least you don't have a Loonie & Toonie!
I've always wondered if Americans got our money in thier change! |

I find them all the time. We put them aside for our next trip down. I have a question for you. are you able to use them in every day transaction like when you go to the corner store? I've mistakenly pulled out Canadian coin when I'm down there & the teller/cashier has given them back, even a penny. We use the US coins up here all the time. |

I run a small business, and i get between $ 1.00 and $5 a week in US coin. Can't get exchange on coin. So it just gets passed on. Have had customers who will not part with US coins, saving it for next trip south I guess. |

We clean out about $5.00 US in coins from our cash register at work every day. I live close to the Niagara Falls border, so we get a lot of Americans getting gas where I work. We get lots of bills too, especially on long weekends. |

I find them all the time. I even got some Euro coins the other day.
It all depends on where you live. If you live in a big city where there are a lot of tourists (like I do), you're more likely to find foreign change. |

Quite often. When the Canadian dollar was not doing as well, I knew people that would go to great lengths to get American coins. They would then cash them in when they went on trips to the U.S. |
