I have lived in Canda for thirty years and I love it here.
When I first arrived here I was 22 years old. We didn't know anybody but people were friendly and helpful and this country soon felt like home to us. We lived about 45 minutes outside Toronto for the first year and we loved the lush farming countryside close to Lake Erie.
We then moved to Northern Ontario where we lived for 4 years in a gold mining town. That was a rugged place to live with mile after mile of lakes, trees and rocks - vast and majestic spaces. We saw wolves, porcupines and Black bears, tall Jack Pines, and we loved the beautiful, unspoiled wilderness.
We now live near London, Ontario, and this is a gentler part of the country - dairy farms, sleepy villages, miles of corn fields, Amish and Mennonites in their horse-drawn buggies, farmer's markets, apple orchards, Fall Fairs. I love living here.
I have also travelled to the West Coast of Canada - to BC, which is beautiful. I think Vancouver is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and Vancouver Island is spectacular.
I have been to the East Coast too, which has its own charm, small towns, the people have a rugged, earthy attitude to life and a wonderful sense of humour.
Check out my website for my story at http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com/about-us.html and click your way around the site for lots of info about this area of South Western Ontario.
I can't hink of much I don't like, I even like winter - although it can last just a little tooooooooo long, even for me! |

My favourite things about Canada are the cleanliness, the friendliness and helpfulness of the majority of Canadians, I love how you get to experience all of the seasons, being able to see quite a variety of wild animals, free health care and how it's not too crowded. Radios can play music without bleeping the cursing. Excellent beer too of course.
My least favourite things are the lack of public transportation outside of the main metro areas. I don't like how it's so big. Cheaper to fly to england then to BC from Ontario... makes it kinda hard to see and appreciate other parts of the country. Thats about it.
And yeah I'm from Southern Ontario |
