"Hi"...Whale Watching.......incredible experience ( a great 4 hours ) !

Just "google" it ( Lots of outfits in downtown Victoria...all you have to do is choose )! *lol*

Then find a nice Pub (lots of them) and have a great meal and a few beers and "sigh" !

Glad to help ! *S* (Michael C...)

Go see the China town there with Pan Tan Alley. There are a lot of neat shops. Is this during the day or the evening.

I know that the Swans brews their own beer and has live bands almost every night.
Victoria is rich with live music and bands almost all nights of the week. You can probably hit up almost any pub, have a good meal that's decently priced and see some entertainment. I suggest Irish Times or Sticky Wicket.

I'm not so sure about Langford area.
There are a lot of shops you could browse in, especially on Government Street.

Also on the weekends in Market Square there are often festivals put on by various ethnic groups. I think when I was last there it was a Greek Festival. I learned a lot about Greek culture just talking to people and it didn't cost me that much.
Good luck! It's rainy season right now.

Whale watching, storm watching are a couple of fun things that you can do. You could also see the Royal Museum in Victoria, and the Craigdalach castle there too.

This question in it self is a fun question as it seems unusual to have to plan something for over 4 hours rather than under 4 hours.

I am guessing that you have only about 4 hours rather than a day or two or maybe a week?

I have found myself over in Victoria with a half day to kill on occassion.
If I am in a touristy mood downtown Victoria and the Harbourside area could easily take you 4 hours or so especiaaly if you decide to sit down and eat somewhere.

There is lots of shopping and unique shops around every corner. Around the harbour area there is also the main tourist attraction area depending on your interest you could choose from many. The Art Gallery, Royal B.C. Museum , Royal London Wax Museum, Parliament Buildings and many more. There are Kiosks or the acutual attraction that has show times, cost ect..

If you are into nature and a little exercise there is the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

If the timing is right you can go whale watching or Victoria is great place for cycling.
The Link below list many of the attractions in the area there is also some good dinner suggestions.
Have fun in Victoria !

There's nothing to do in Langford.

There is a good museum on the Navy Base in Esquimalt. Also, there are tours of the base and Dockyard which are very interesting.

Don't go to the undersea gardens. Total rip off. Whale watching is a good suggestion, I don't think it would cost more than 150 bucks and it'll take around 4 hours. The museum is good, but the exhibit is terrible right now (BC Spirit? I'll just walk around town and talk to like, 5 people for free, thanks. Bring back the Tut stuff or the Titanic stuff!) The wax museum is fairly brief, but really fun in my opinion. The Art Gallery is a good place to spend a lot of time. And the exhibit is good for everyone right now because it's historical, rather than contemporary. No arguing about whether or not you think the piece has merit. You could take in tea at the Empress, and tour Craigdarroch Castle. They say both are haunted, so ghost-hunting might be fun. Parliament is closed right now, and I wouldn't recommend Beacon Hill or any other hiking or outdoor wandering since it's been raining and is muddy and colder than hell right now. I think that covers everything touristy.

The guy who suggested Swans is a thinker. They have all kinds of good beers, I recommend the Raspberry and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice. You could do worse than to spend your 4 hours getting drunk, and if you're gonna get drunk on beer, make it delicious. Don't bother with the Irish Times. It's hella expensive. If you want atmosphere, skip the Sticky Wicket and go straight to Big Bad Johns, also in the Strathcona. They give you free peanuts and you're allowed to throw the shells on the floor! The beer is the mysterious XXX, and you can write on the walls. If you don't want to drink, just eat, try Lady Marmalade or the Blue Fox for breakfast. The Lotus Pond (Vegan Asian) is probably the best food for the best price I've ever seen. For lunch they do a buffet and they charge by weight. Don't be thrown by the vegan part. The Reef, Cafe Mexico are pretty good dinner spots.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Langford except get drunk on Lucky and work on cars.

If you want to make your trip memorable go to Tofino. Camp on the beach or stay at the youth hostel there. If you are going to the hostel make sure you book in advance for it is usually full.
Things to do in Tofino: head down to Long Beach( i suggest you camp there if you have the gear) rent a surfboard and a full wet suit and ride the waves. If your not into surfing rent a bodyboard and have a good time. The water is really cold there but the waves are great. You are gauranteed to have a good time and swim at the #1 nicest beaches in Canada

--- there are many places to rent surfboards and bodyboards and it will definitely be less than $150

edit

sorry i just completely miss read your question, I know tofino is not near Victoria, but make the extra hour or two drive to Tofino, and stay a night or two, you won't regret it.

I suggest a tour through the Museum of Natural History, followed by a double feature at the Imax right next door, then a stroll along the Inner Harbour to a nice restaurant like Cafe Mex. Ole!

The Royal British Columbia Museum is impressive, and nowhere near $150. After that, you could explore downtown Victoria, or check out the Parliament Buildings.
Crashing the afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel is great, if you're a bit of an anarchist.
