Going to Canada, food expense?

I am going to Canada with a friend in March. We have planned out our expenses for getting there plus hotel, but how much can we expect to pay for food, assuming we eat at inexpensive restuarants and eat maybe once a day...
Additional Details
I forgot to specify where we're actually going. We'll be in the Montreal area.

Here's a list of the best of Montreal's eats; it varies from what your taste is, to your price range.

BTW: There's nothing better for cheap grub than a grocery store.

We've got diners & deli's. There's McDonalds ,Taco Bell, Burger King, Harvey's Subway and Wendys.

And if things are really tight:

Loaf of bread $ 2.00
Jar of Peanut Butter $ 4.00
Jar of Strawberry Jam $ 3.00

That'll last you a few days. You won't starve.

Enjoy your trip.

That all depends on the city you go to, but there are plenty of cheap eating places every where.
In Toronto in the Kensington market and on Queen street, Montreal is excellent so is Vancouver especially on Commercial drive.

There are a wide range of places to eat in Montreal, but generally speaking, it will cost 25 dollars a day to eat cheaply and $100 CAN$ per day to eat very well (per person) and everything in between.

Come to Calgary, it is more interesting, cheaper and with the right people, food could be free

Expect it to cost more than in the states. With the conversion rate, the way it is, everything in Canada for Americans has become expensive. McDonald's in Toronto is now more expensive than McDonald's in New York. I'd say you each should budget a minimum of $20-$25/day, because eating once a day won't last long.

Close your ears, open your eyes
east side marios is a good restaurant
like 14 bucks a meal or so

also boston pizza is the same. theres places like kelseys & the keg which are a bit more expensive... but better food

montanas is like 9 bucks a meal

id say bring 12 bucks a day for food
if you were going to cheap-ish places i guess?

im not very clear am i hahahaha,

thye have half of the restraunts they do in the states.
theres not really a difference in pricing either.
