well yes sweater long pants no shorts and a couple of t shirts are recommended bring along a jacket fleece jacket should be about the right thickness. as far as west ed is concerened clothes are all right but some stores you are only paying for the name. The dolphins are gone but have been replaced with the sea lions which are just as enjoyable to watch the subs have been decommisioned and replaced with water bumpercars which are a blast as well silver city movies are cool but be prepared to fork over about $55 for 2 admissions pop and popcorn stay away from the chinese fast food places bad experiences.. if you can spend the day at the waterpark its awesome there you can even try your hand in bungee jumping hope you have blast and if shopping is what you desire try kingsway garden mall or londondery good womens clothes good luck |

its getting warmer here now that summer is coming. Jeans, sweater and a jacket ( not need a winter jacket no more ) should be good. In the day its been t shirt weather in the sun.
Restaurant meals anywheres from $10-$30 on average. Subway, Mcdonals, etc $5-$10.
Lots of shopping in West Edmonton mall. |

i live in edmonton. ..its not that cold ive been getting along fine with a light jacket....right now its raining but the previous days and the near furure are bright and sunny. If you a girl bring capris! an a couple of hoodies. dont pack summer or winter stuff!
Its not very expensive here. We have a 6% tax on everything but that is all. It just varies on where you eat/ shop. West edmonton mall is an awesome place to shop... its huge!Things are not that expensive but some stores have higher priced items..... for example lululemon or aritzia.
HOpe i helped |

I haven't been to Edmonton since 2001, But Canmore is Absolutely Fantastic the weather has been around plus 10-15 on average. On Easter weekend we hit a max of 26 degrees which was a god sent! Shopping can sometimes be alittle more expensive because one Canmore is Next to a National Park (Banff) Which is a Massive tourist attraction! and Edmonton is the capital of Alberta but you on only pay one tax out here which is Gst and that can be a huge savings believe is or not the McDonald's in Canmore is More expensive then you plan city on a big mac combo is $7.45 and then you pay a 5cent recycling fee on the cup and box so at the end your big mac is about $10 but in Edmonton it's about regular $5-6. I hope you and all your friends/classmates have a wounder-full time remember bring a camera and some batteries. |

Edmonton days are hitting 60 F, but nights can dip down close to freezing. Not really cold, but it depend where you are visiting from and how soon you are coming. Bring your jackets and sweaters ready to layer clothing over t-shirts and day wear. If coming from Florida, Arizona, Mexico or further south bring the thickest jacket you own.
Alberta's Economy is booming because of oil revenues, so it is relatively expensive, yet less sales tax than anywhere else in Canada.
The world's larges shopping centre with casinos, largest indoor carnival, arcades, swimming pool and wave pool, ice rink, mini golf, dolphin show, submarine rides (yes real submarines indoors) and 100 restaurants is a HORRIBLE place to shop. Seriously, there are way too many distractions to shop. Also a great place to get lost. But if you must, they say there are 800 stores and services. (Okay. It has been a couple of years since I was there. I seem to recall the dolphins or submarines may be gone, but you can look up specifics based on your interests in the link.) |

hi we visted Edmonton few months back . Nice place. The temperature at that time was around -20 deg c and there was around 2 foot of snow around!. Check out the weather before you go. Search google for weather report. In winter you need, warm sweaters, a thick jacket, a boot, hat, scarf and glove as a minimum
Expensive ? it depends on from where you are travelling from? comparing UK it is very cheaper. Meal costs around $10 avarage ish? again depends on where you eat I suppose.
I found West Edmonton mall to be expensive. perhaps there are other shops that are cheaper. Locals could give you a tip
It is the most friendliest place I have ever been in life. Fanstatic locals, so don't let the weather put you off |

You'll have a blast in West Edmonton Mall. Tons of stores and food courts.
Clothing...just wear early spring type clothing. Jeans, T-shirts, sweaters, a lighter warm jacket. Usually, by now you are safe from getting snowed on, but it can happen....(don't worry though, no need to pack the toque and mitts and ski pants!) |

what time of year?
warm-ish to warm clothes for mountain areas, nothing too summery for edmonton - we're still getting snow as of this morning!!!! for cripes' sakes...
Mc'D's food's about the same here as anywhere... nicer restaurants can run you anywhere from 8 to 50 bucks per entree... I'm guessing for a school trip it'll be BP's or something on that line, you can look at spending 20 or 25 for the meal including tax and tip (I buy for 2, leave 20% tip, and rarely spend more than 50)
... was in Ontario recently - Timmy's coffee is much more here; my bf's coffee plus my coffee in TO was 3.01; here in Ed it's 3.35...
West Ed's a great place to shop if you have enough time to wander all day looking for what you want - there are discount outlets and names a person's willing to pay money for... they're just opening up Ed's first H&M, too (miss that store from my trip to Europe! looking forward to shopping there, actually) |

have fun |
