Good gift ideas from Canada?

Hi,

I want to buy a couple of gifts to some of my friends and my girlfriend in Europe, but I am having a hard time to find something that that is unique.

Any ideas? It could be edible too.

Cheers!

Maple Syrup! I know that sounds super corny... but whenever my relatives visit from New Zealand they pack lots of Maple Syrup, and I dont mean like Aunt Jamima, I mean the good stuff.

Or any Candies that they dont have there.

b
Maple syrup candy and maybe a postcard or a gift with a canada sign?

When we travel to the UK on holidays my relatives go bonkers for the genuine Maple Syrup. We always take a couple of litres of the PC brand pure syrup the kind in the fancy bottle with the stopper. Its cheap as chips and it always goes over big, YES I know it is 100% cliche but .....

Another idea a friend of mine had was to get some of the pacific smoked salmon but I think that won't go over well with some folks.

When I travel I try to bring back things that reflect life in that country.

Get a bottle of good Niagara wine, or even Ice Wine. Try to find something you maybe can't buy where you are from. We also have very good beer here too.

Food ideas definately get some real maple syrup and some maple syrup product of some sort. Also there is good chocolates and things like that.

Maybe get something from Roots our national store, or even a hockey jersey or something along those lines.

It's true just like West Coast said and everyone else......Maple Syrup---also went to NZ and my friend was begging me for the stuff. They had this disgusting faux crap from Australia......gross.

I also brought her Maple Cookies, some Haida art, because I live in BC. She really wanted me to bring her some Tim Hortons donuts.....because they don't have a donut problem like us Canucks have! LOL What can you do? Maybe you could ask to get some frozen and take it with you on the plane.....

I also brought some smoked wild salmon, the stuff you can find at the Superstore in a fancy cedar box. Brought them that too.

Tara
Something from Roots.
