Great places in Canada to live? |
Ones that I could easily immigrate to from the U.S. Where there is alot of employment and housing options. Also I have heard that Canada has alot of air and water pollution. What parts of Canada is this. Is it mostly on the east coast or near the border or what. Also any other information about Canada would be greatly appriciated. |

Move to Vancouver!
It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Anywhere in the lower mainland (the surrounding area of Vancouver) is a great place to live. Housing in Vancouver is quite expensive, but if you live outside the city it is much cheaper although more expensive than the housing in many parts of the US (from what I have heard of the real estate situation there).
There are many jobs in Vancouver especially if you're a tradesperson, because of the 2010 olympics. The pollution here is comparable to other large cities, it is slightly better than in Eastern Canada because there are many more factories/industrial areas there. The tap water is the BEST though! hahah I'm not kidding...
anyways good luck I hope you find a great place to live in Canada! |

Actually, a lot of the air and water pollution that plague us is a direct result of our proximity to the United States. The shifting winds often cause pollution from the South to float up to us.
As for the best city, it really depends on your job qualifications/tastes. The major cities like Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa etc... are always places to consider. |

Toronto is a great city to live however if you don't like living in a big city that has so much traffic, population etc then I would suggest you to consider moving to Calgary which is a less populated city and lots of employment opportunities etc

Avoid Toronto. The mayor can't seem to balance the city's books and taxes everyone else to make up for his mistakes; smog alerts almost every summer; gang warfare is getting to the point where walking down any given street can get you shot; horrible drivers on their cell phones thinking that they're the only ones on the road; and the population in general seems to only care about themselves individually and are very closed-minded. It's basically New York City before Guiliani stepped in to clean it up.
Remember, kids, like drugs, say "no" to Toronto. |

Many years ago I moved to Canada from England and I have not regretted it at all - it has been a great place to live, raise my children and I am proud to call Canada my home.
I live in Southern Ontario and I love it here, the climate is good, the people are neighbourly and businesses are friendly. I have built a website to tell everyone about the area in which I live.
http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com will give you information about the climate, the various towns, cities and small villages of Southern Ontario. I also have lots of information about the Nature & Wildlife of the area.
I must also say that when you move to another country, you do give up the security that living in your home-town gives you and the first few months can be lonely while you make new friends, but if it is something that you would like to do, then go for it!
At the end of our lives we don't usually regret what we DID try, but many people regret what they DIDN'T try!
Good Luck with your decision! |
