Has anyone been to or is from Niagara Falls in Canada...?

When I cross the border they just ask, where are you going? Why are you going there? How long will you be in Canada? Anything to declare? Also they ask if you have any alcohol or tobacco. As long as you anwnser the questions and have Proper ID then you can cross. For me they rarely check my trunk maybe have a peak inside from the driver's side window. Try to awnser the questions and don't explain too much. I've been to Niagara Falls many times, it's pretty sickkk. Hope this helps, and enjoy your time there!!!

Well first of I hope you have a great time here. Yes I am from Niagara Falls.
Places you want to check out. First go to Niagara on the Lake. It's a beautiful town with lots of great shops. Make sure you come and play at out two wonderful Casino. You may want to do the butterfly conservatory. I also would suggest to do Luis Tussos( I know it's not spelled right LOL) There's so much to do and see If you give us a better idea of what you want to do I can give you some more ideas.

Now regarding crossing the boarder. Make sure that neither you or your boyfriend have a criminal record. It is illegal to cross the boarder if you do. Crossing into Canada otherwise is never a problem I find that going states side can be more difficult now a days. Maybe it's because they carry guns there and we don't.

At all times you will be respectful of the Customs person. ALWAYS! These people have no sense of humor whatsoever and they have full legal right to search and sieze whatever they want. Just answer the questions and you will be fine. And if you think they are being a bunch of pricks, do NOT take it personally. Just say yes sir and no ma'am.

My wife and I honeymooned there 5 years ago.Its really beautiful.Going through customs wasnt problematic then but that was before 9-11.I strongly recommend that you use a debit card or canadian money for anything you buy there,the stores try to cheat you on the exchange rate.A debit card will give you the best exchange rate.Hope this helps,have fun on your trip.Shawn

I'm Canadian and have been there a few times. It is a great place. Customs is not usually too bad, they will probably check you, so don't try and bring any drugs or anything! Try to stay in the chain hotels like Hilton, because the first time I went there we booked our hotel in advance and it promised a great view of the falls. Well, we had a view of a brick wall about 5 feet away! Definitly try and use Canadian cash, and use a machine or bank to exchange any money so it is accurate. I have never been on the boat that goes under the falls, but I have been to the walking tour under the falls. It is really cool, but kind of expensive, you get to walk through caves that are under the falls. When they give you a poncho, take it! You will get very wet without one. Niagra Falls has alot of haunted houses and it also has a Ripleys museum, which was really neat. You will do alot of walking, so bring good shoes and clothes for every kind of weather. crossing the border isn't too bad, but going back into the states is sometimes brutal (no idea why) make sure you have reciept for everything you but, cause they may want to see them. niagara falls is fun, but quite pricey, so make sure you bring enough cash. enjoy!!!!
