I have lived here for 10 years. I hated it when I first got here because it was too flat, too cold, too boring and lots of mosquito's in the summer. After 10 years though I realize it is a great place. Mostly good people, lots to do, lots of restaurants serving all types of food. Sports, Movies, shopping. Great parks lots of festivals. You should check it out. |

I actually live in Winnipeg, MB it's a nice small city, fairly provincial and life is slow down here. As far as entertainment does, Forks is the main attraction spot and you would probably want to mostly stay away from Downtown as we still have a crime problem down there. Another nice area is Corydon - Small Italy it's always lively down there in the summer with lots of little restaurants and shops.
Nature is really nice down here with a lot of lakes around the city too. |

are u crazy?...cuz i am not!

lived there for about 5 years. Lots of Natives to worry about and transients from the north part of the province. While it is true there may seem like a lot of crime if you watch out for yourself its not too bad. Its a quiet and layed back city, that is to say its economic base is not as fast paced and rushed as other cities like Vancouver, Toronto or Calgary.
They do have a great cultural flair with the famous Winnipeg Ballet (if thats what you are into). Lots of shops and night clubs to take in. And it does have an international Airport so it is accessable. It is a great starting point to go to Churchhill MB. to visit and play with the Polar Bears during November.
Its generaly like any other smaller city with a population close to one million. Not very many high tall skyscrapers but they do have a wonderful older part of the city that has been preserved since the beginning of the last century.
Because it is situated on the praries and does not have the mtns to block the cold it tends to get colder in the winter months and stays that way until summer when it turns quite the opposite. Manitoba is known for its large mosquitoes.
Winnipeg is actually geographicaly the center point of North America.
It started like many other places in Canada as a fur trading post.
Its a great place to visit (made lots of friends) but for me personaly I am glad that I headed out. |

no, but when I move to BC I'll be going through it...From what I've seen and heard, it's nothing to write home about though.
A week ago I was watching this special on CBC, and they said that on average, 400 vehicles are stolen in a week there. |
