No, and they just had a provincial election in which the Liberals were voted in, so the issue of separatism will not likely be in the forefront again until this government is defeated.

valy_4
not yet. it tryed many times, one time before the start of union of Canada, one time in 1980 with rené lévesque and another time in 1995 with jacques parizeau.

in order to raise the question the parti québécois (PQ) has to be elected for the québec central government and then propose a day on which people will go vote for it. if the PQ is not elected, the referendum question has to wait, and looking at the past elections on march 26th, this is not going to happen anytime soon.

Nope. We're still hanging in here...

They have not built the wall at the Ontario border yet and the Americans have not annexed it to make it the 51st state, although there were some guys in Mooers, NY talking about going big game hunting in Parc Safari the other day, so who knows.

No! YAY! It seems that separatism is no longer a huge issue in Québec...finally! Don't leave Québec...you guys freak out the americans with your french speaking, not to mention we need your goalies, poutine, ridiculously strong beer and your sexy french accents (ha and men...wow montreal has some amazing looking men)...besides Québec is the birthplace of Canada!

how dumb are you????

No. I think they realize they wouldn't survive too great all alone - so why risk it?...the states would take them under their wing...mwhaha

It is a very contraversial issue. I had a boyfriend who was for it (from Quebec) and I am against it (from B.C but want to be from Quebec - my sis lives there) - it didn't work out.

haha

No, the Maritime provinces are still connected to Quebec, and thus to Canada.
