Hi Canadians! I'm an Italian girl...? |
I know my English is terrible, but I'd like to ask you something...
I love Canada and in particular its nature (the lakes, the forests, the mountains, the animals...), I'd like to come there someday...
In which places I'd find the wild nature?
And why the symbol of your flag is a maple leaf?
Greetings to you all!! |

Ok, so I'm just repeating previous answers, but still...
I would presume that as a European girl, you want to see what you would not see back home, and that that is the reason why you want to see the wilder side of Canada.
Fair enough!
So why not combine this with a trip to the city? Fly into Montreal, and take a drive up North for about half an hour, and there you are in the Laurentians, land of lakes, mountains, wilderness, forests, animals, etc.
If you come around mid-October, you get to see the mountains in full autumn colours. If you come around this time of the year, you also get to ski one of tens of mountains with full accommodations, the best-known of which is Mount Tremblant.
If you come in early spring, say late March to mid-April, you get to go to the sugar shack and see for yourself the magnificent trees whose leaves are represented on our flag.
Ti aspettiamo! Ciao! |

Well, The Canadian arctic is very pretty.[ I should know, I live there ]
Also, The Bruce Peninsula in Ontario is beautiful. [ I go there during the summers ]
I heard that BC is quite pretty too.
Edit - Our Flag represents the maple trees in our country.. and it stands out. ^-^
I could send you some pictures of the Canadian Arctic if you like. |

You will love a place called Banff / Lake Louise. It is the most beautiful place in Canada.
The Maple leaf comes from 1860 when the Prince of Wales visited Canada. The Canadian hosts of English origin wore a rose to identify themselves; the Scots a thistle. The Canadians didn't have a similar symbol of ancestry so they adopted the maple leaf.
Your English is pretty good. |

In Alberta you will find an abundance of nature and wildlife. We have the prairies on one side and the Rocky Mountains on the other.
Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper are incredible. The drive between them is one of the most beautiful in the world. You can't beat it anywhere.
You can drive through the mountains to BC as well. There are many wonderful places to go there as well. |

There is beauty and nature in all of Canada. Throughout the Maritime provinces ( Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island) the people are super friendly, and the wildlife is great with Whale Watching Trips to Moose wandering around your yard. Quebec and Ontario are the most populace provinces with alot of history (well to us it's alot of history LOL) but plenty of wilderness also. The prairie provinces (Manitoba and Saskatchewan) pretty flat but in the Northern parts plenty of wilderness and wildlife, the sunrises and sunsets on the prairies are beautiful!! The Western provinces (British Columbia and Alberta) have the Rocky Mountains, Banff and Jasper in Alberta are just beautiful places and the Okanagan Valley in BC is right on. The Northern Territories (The Yukon Territory, The Northwest Territory, and Nunavut) well if you want Nature these are the places to go very rugged terrain that is mostly wilderness.
After saying all of that and being an Ontario boy...the best advice I can give you is to research the area that you want to visit, there isn't a place in Canada that a half hour drive won't get you into the country to breath fresh air and witness nature at it's best!!! |

The maple leaf is an artificial symbol of Canada. I have lived in Canada my entire life (I am 18) and I have only ever seen one maple leaf, and it was under glass. It is only a national symbol for some eastern Canadians. There are no maple leaves in western Canada.
My favourite nature type place is Waterton Lakes National Park. |
