Lots of sunshine, much less humid and less hot in the summertime, less snow. For sports lots of skiing, snowboarding, The Grey Cup champion Calgary Stampeders, and of course - the best hockey team! - only losers don't like our Calgary Flames......
(ps your chances of convincing your parents to buy you a car are much better in Calgary than Toronto, trust me.)

go ducks!

yeah, your close to the mountains like the other person said. But there is a ton of crime that goes on here, so watch out for that.

I'm born and raised in Calgary. Its an awesome place to live.

We have relatively good weather. Snow isn't very deep and we get the Chinook winds, summers are hot. Coming from Toronto, I would suggest bringing a lot of moisturizer... Calgary is very dry.

The mountains are beautiful and only a few hours drive from the city limits. Also, there is Calaway Park (theme park) nearby and you can drive up to Edmonton to visit the West Edmonton Mall.

Also, experience the Calgary Stampede...lots of fun for any one. Get tickets to the Grand Stand Show if you can..

The Saddle Dome is the location of lots of sporting events and concerts. Get familiar with it.

Our zoo is fantastic though parts are under construction.

We have several awesome movie theatres. Sunridge Spectrum is my favourite.

If you're into partying, check out 17th Ave SW, also known as the Red Mile.. lots of different bars/pubs and places to have a good time. Very busy during the hockey season and Stampede.

A must-visit for Italian food is the Spaghetti Factory downtown, across the street from the Shell Canada building.

Other awesome spots to visit are Canada Olympic Park, Heritage Park, the Olympic Plaza, the Devonian Gardens (currently closed for reno's..).

Transit is relatively well-run with few snags. Winter can sometimes cause havoc but its usually pretty good.

Its a lot of fun.

You are coming from a crowded city to Calgry, you might find calgary really boring... so you gotta get involved a lot to not to get bored... thats what i do :)

MasterPython
The benefit is that there are jobs here. That's about the only reason to come. Outside stampede week Calgary's main selling point it that it's less than two hours away from some ski hills.

Sassafras and Mustard
Your close to the mountains!

lemonn
Not as busy. Less snow. Not as humid. The Flames! Safer.
