How can I go to Niagra Fall from New York ?

I line in Jersey City. I want to visit Niagara fall for a weekend. Which one is the best and cheapest way to go and visit that place ? I heard in bus it almost takes 7-8 hours in travelling and then only 4 hours to fall. So can anybdy suggest me better way ?

Mr. Fascinating!
Getting there isn't so much the issue as getting across. Avoid the Peace Bridge (from Buffalo to Fort Erie) and the Rainbow Bridge (from Niagara Falls, NY to Niagara Falls, Ontario), as the traffic there is massive and the border agents tend have a higher tendency to be a pain in the rump. Head over to Lewiston, NY (just down the Niagara River about 5 miles) and cross at the Lewiston/Queenston bridge. Way less traffic and the border agents are far less intense (as a rule of thumb).

According to MapQuest, a drive from Jersey City, NJ to Niagara Falls (NY or ON) is about 400 miles and 7 hours not counting stops. The bus might require more stops and might not be the cheapest alternative.

Take a drive up. If you go by train or bus it takes longer. And I suggest you visit Niagara Falls from the Canadian side. The view is better.

take the thruway from NYC to Buffalo and then the 190 North over the grand island bridges exit to the Robert moses parkway and cross at the Rainbow bridge.

TJ
drive there.
go to www.mapquest.com for directions, they're great.

Fly from Newark to Buffalo. Take bus from Buffalo to NF. Only an hour at the most.

I think you should fix your keyboard. I think it's missing some keys.

Niagara Falls ain't worth it, dude. If you happen to be going to Buffalo or Toronto for some reason, have a look at it. Otherwise don't bother. It's certainly not worth 8 hours on a bus or the price a plane ticket would nab you from Newark to Buffalo.

Unless you're going for the strip joints. They might be worth it for you. I've been to the ones in Jersey and they don't even get naked!?! The strip joints in Ontario are basically brothels. If that's your reasoning, you should go to Montreal instead. It'll be closer for you and it's a really cool city. Niagara Falls (NY and Ontario) is a shyte hole.
