You can walk, bike, hitchhike, rent a car, drive your own, take a Greyhound bus, ride the VIA rail train, or fly. Heck, if you have a boat, you can even take that up the St. Lawrence Seaway to get to Toronto.
The way you choose depends on two factors: cost and time
According to Google Maps, if you drive from Halifax to Toronto it is about 1800KM. Most of that is driving along the Transcanada Highway. It will take you 18hrs to drive or take a bus between the two cities. If you fly, you can be there in about 2-3 hours. The train is somewhere in between.
As for cost, it is probably most expensive to fly, train or bus would be cheaper, and if you have other people to split the gas costs, driving would be the cheapest.
I did not include walking because although it is free, it would take you 360 hours to walk there (at 5km/h), and that still would require 30 days worth of meals and possibly some hotel rooms for the nights if you were to only walk for 12hrs per day. I don't really think that is an option. |
