How cold is Canada in July?

Good afternoon from DC!
My friends and I have decided to visit Canada in July.
We wanted to know what the snow conditions would be like because we're planning to go skiing/snowboarding.
Could someone tell me?
We can't wait to ski in summer!

Go visit the north pole instead. I heard Santa has a great skiing resort up there!

enilorac
our igloos hold up well in summer.

SteveN
Good luck to you. Just take I-95 to I-87, then keep driving north. If you get to the town of Tuktoyaktuk, you've gone too far.

Where are you planning to go in Canada? It's quite a large country. lol
If you're going in July, most mountains will be closed for skiing and snowboarding. I know that Whistler and Blackcomb in British Columbia will be closed for winter sports, but opened for downhill biking.
I have a feeling that you're going to have a hard time finding anywhere open past April/May up there. Sorry, man.

mckahlan_2004
I hope you are kidding. Canada DOES have a summer. Even areas in the northern territories can reach 80+ degrees F in July/August.

Oh, it gets a hot as minus 30 F. Definetly bring your warmest clothes and lots of them.

Too cold for you, stay where you are! Only the bravest and the toughest are in Canada, especially in July!

Surely you jest !!

isotope2007
what an *** you are, good luck with that though, be sure and bring your warmest clothing - we love to see uneducated people crossing the border with their skis in the middle of summer -

Hard sledding when its 110F in the BC interior where most of the ski hills are but go for it -

Are U Crazy! It gets like 25-34degrees(Celsius) in july up here, so you probably won't be able to go sking or snowboarding unless you go to the northern part of the nation.
wish you luck, and enjoy our country.

Your joking right?
You might need to be more specific, parts of Canada are inline with the top of California and parts are in the extreme north (getting close to the North Pole).
July in Ontario can be around 95 deg.
July in British Columbia averages 85 deg.
If your heading to the Northwest Territories your chances are high you'll be able to find skiing (because the mountians have snow all year long). Whistler, BC (Winter Olympics 2010 location) has a glacier high in the mountians that can be skiable all year long.
Being from DC you will probably be going to Ontario, or possible Quebec, and there will be no skiing in July!
It's HOT (and all our Igloo's have melted by that time ;).

We have great skiing in Alberta in July. Please wear your snow suit, I hope you drown and we have one less idiot in the gene pool.

irishdancinggirl1096
i hate to destroy your plans but u can still go skiing and bring ski suits but you will be the laughing stock of the city! maybe u should check the weather channel.

Hi

I can tell you there won't be any snow in July here. It's hot weather, depends what city/province your in but expect temps of about 30-40 deg. cel.

Robb R
Despite the obvious sarcasm from others, there is some late season skiing in Canada. However, it's not fun. Skiing at a few of the places have very limited lift capacity, the mornings are rock solid ice, the afternoons is like skiing in mash potatoes. Access is limited and often a great deal of hiking is required. Generally a very bad idea.
