How come Canadians rarely post silly YA! questions like Americans?

If all the questions on YA! were questions posted only because the person REALLY did not know the answer to the question being asked after extensive research attempts,

I imagine 99.5% of the question on the Canada Travel board would be eliminated. But there's fun in humour and silly exercises and seeing people's responses.

But one thing I must say, Canadians tend to post more genuine questions.

A Canadian would not likely post on a USA travel board the question "How does the USA trade with Canada?" or "Do I need a passport?" or "What countries does the USA travel to" because these are 'researchable questions'.

Instead they ask "What engineering positions are vacant in San Diego" or "How are the schools in Scarsdale, New York."

Thanks SaskArie :)!

You know I like your country when I'm studying for an exam I have to sit for and listening to of all things ....."Canadian celtic folk music in the background".

I have great stuff from Quebec and bluegrass from the prairies and old songs from Newfoundland. I put my ipod playlist on shuffle songs and let it play.

Living in Canada is serious work. Leaves us no time to be silly. I mean there is never a day goes by that the igloo does not need some work done to it. And the huskies are very demanding and with good reason. It is one very huge "Mush" from Montreal to Toronto for example. Joe has to work hard getting enough whale blubber to keep them in good working order. And I saw a post here just yesterday that the US is draining our brains. This is scary stuff!

Hunny414, if the whole world had a Canadian sense of humour, the world would be a great place. And I have to tell you. We could not do it without our sometimes, somewhat obtuse neighbours to the south. They give us so many great opportunities to practice our humourous bent.

About the quality of our Canadian questions - I cannot speak for other Canadians but I have to say I find it very difficult to think up silly questions and being a basically frugal person with my energies (that's sort of the same thing as lazy but lazy is such an unpleasant word to apply to myself), I find it easier to just refrain from working that hard whenever I can.

I hope that helps!

In reality Eric how is one to know a person's nationality unless they come out and say it? So Canadians could be posting some pretty asinine questions and no one would know! I am sure we Canadians post our fair share of silly questions.

I must say you are one of my favourite posters I look forward to seeing what delightful questions and ponderings you come up with!

Yes, how true. I agree, they would not post questions about personal nuclear weapons, or inheriting massive cities with a zero population..................

this is funny , american people think we are a bunch of people called canukians and we just sit here doing nothing. i guess they have much much to learn about canadian people.

JDW
Because we are not ignorant like americans

Apparently Canadians don't know much about anything, though according to them they know everything there is to know about the US.

hunny414
because they have no sense of humor
