Right on, your going to love it here in Canada. We are friendly and don't bite. LOL
Welcome to Canada. (I myself have a lot of Americans friends, for years) I live in Abbotsford, BC, Canada 6 1'2 miles away from two border crossings. Sumas, Aldergrove crossing. |

As an American who has traveled to Canada several times, I have never had a bad experience with Canadians. They have been polite and courteous; just avoid any political discussion and you will have absolutely no problem. |

Most Canadians don't mind Americans. What most Canadians don't like is American politics. Most won't even realize you're American. |

I certainly hope that you don't believe we all hate you. The majority of Canadians don't mind Americans.
I'm sure you'll be able to blend in well, with the cultural similarities of Canada and America.
Remember to represent your country well, as Canadians pay alot of attention to what goes on South of the border. We were also extremely upset about 9/11.
Might I add that there are apparently many Americans in Toronto? It makes sense, since it's close to the border. |

The media would like the world (and Canada) to believe that we all hate Americans. Rather, every Canadian is different. Some Canadians are jerks and will jump to conclusions ("cranky yankies") and some Canadians will be open and friendly. Most are somewhere in between.
I've never been to Windsor, but I have found people in Toronto (contrary to the stereotypes that we have for Torontonians) to be friendly. and just as everyone says that people in Vancouver are laid back, I have met many anal-people in Vancouver to need to take a stress pill or two.
Enjoy your visit! |

Canadians like Americans and are very friendly. They do not understand some of the stuff our government does, and may ask about it. But they are welcoming and warm.
I've been traveling in Canada for the last year off and on, and I have never had a bad experience with a Canadian. |

Hate to say it but at least the people I know (don't want to speak for all Canadians) don't think to highly of Americans. It may be better in Toronto as it's a major city. |
