How do you view Canada/Canadians?

I was just wondering how the rest of the world views Canada/Canadians.
Be 100% honest :)

I grew up 12 miles south of the Canadian line and have been around them a lot. On the whole they are polite, friendly and great fun to be around. Not at all like the "Mackenzie Brothers" or any of those other "Crazy Canuk" parodies.

Canada got #1 friendliest to tourists of any country in the world in a recent report in yahoo headlines. I believe it because they are very patients and kind and they don't pick fights with anyone no matter how must you try and annoy them. At the same time, Canadians have a backbone and they don't get stepped on because they will just tune you out if you have nothing nice to say.

You will find after a while that universally speaking, there is absolutely no basis, reason, or incentive to dislike Canada's people and with kindness for better or for worse, Canada maintains unconquerable strength.

As an American, I pretty much think they're exactly the same as us. I don't know if Canadians view that as a compliment or an insult, but I think that's pretty much how most Americans see it.

I met some Canadians on a cruise once and this lady mentioned that her son lived in California. I said something about when did he become a citizen and she was like "oh no, he's very proud of his Canadian citizenship. He has no intention of becoming an American." I was like holy crap, does it matter that much? Apparently her opinion was not a very good one of America :-)

¡YOWZA!
never met one...are they hot? i would like to live there...they seem really private and secluded...you never hear about them on the news...hmmmm

I really do not understand why this question is asked 100 times a day, and in the Canada section at that.

That being said, I just clicked to see what the ridiculous answers might be, and sure enough, I didn't have to scroll far. As a Canadian Status Native, I can tell you we are far better treated here, and it gets better with each passing year, than our brethren to the South.......to counter what Acid had to say.

* Acidblonde: Oh yes. You are really basing your view of Canadians on things that happened a hundred years ago +? My, my, my. Talk about living in the past. Perhaps you would better serve this country by doing something to change the things you don't like, rather than keeping hatred and racism alive by crying persecution and mistreatment. I challenge you to find a country that does not have some type of human rights violations in their past.....you will be hard pressed to find one, I think. For a relatively young country, we are a Great Nation, and have much to be thankful for. It irks me to see fellow Canadians so eager to gripe, when we truly have no idea of what hardship is. Perhaps you would enjoy life more in a war torn country? Or somewhere that still views women as second class citizens?

They are whiny, liberal pansies that are very xenophobic toward European hockey players (Don Cherry). Sidney Crosby whines about Alexander Ovechkin owning him. Jealous and resentful of Americans.

Acidblonde
Poorly. They are racist when it comes to their treatment of Aboriginal / First Nations people (of which half of my family are).

Check the cbc.ca website if you don't believe me.
