Depending on where you are in hamilton, I dove for months everyday from stoney creek mtn to kitchener/waterloo for work. I was making it in 79 km one way. Depending on the time of day and the traffic, your drive can take you anywhere from 50 mins- 1 1/2 hours. I have been stuck in longer (accidents/road conditions/overall heavy volume). The average time i was doing it in without speeding (only about 10 km's over) was an 1 hour 10 mins. I always took the Linc to 403, then take the 52 copetown cutoff, then left onto hwy 8, go through cambridge, i found turning right onto franklin (where the lil bighorn used to be on the corner) was the best way to go. Once you get through Cambridge, you're on the 401 and then about another 20 mins you're in waterloo. I found taking hwy 6 only good in the late evenings after rush hour traffic or on weekends.
With construction in the area, if you're planning on coming out to waterloo, make sure you're giving yourself enough time for the just in case moments. (theres a lot of roadwork right now as well backing things up)
Hope this helps! |

I worked in Waterloo and lived in Hamilton for a couple of years.
The ride was less than an hour. |

It's about 30-35 miles -- Highway 8 connects the two cities. |

It will take you about 45 minutes straight down Highway 8 even though it is only about 60km. |

It's about an hour and twenty minute drive. It should be no problem unless you are walking. |
