How hot do Canadian summers get in the southern most regions?

that all depends, geographically there are six main geographical regions along Canada's southern border... you have coast cordillera mountain ranges, great plains, canadian shield, great lakes lowlands, and appalachian uplands.

Each of these areas are affected differently from Westerly wind flows, evaporation rates, etc.

So.. where I live on the Great Plains in Alberta it's not uncommon for summers to reach 37 C (100 F), on the coast you'll usually get in the 20's C (70s - 80s F), and so on. It's warm and hot though, it's not cold in the summer time in most areas of Canada.

The hottest temperature I've experienced in a Canadian summer is around 122 F/ 50 C, but that's outside the norm. In the warmest places it can be regularly 113 F/ 45 C. I live in a more northern city in the West, and it generally gets up to around 95 F/ 35 C. So pretty darn hot! ;)

Very hot, like close to 90 degrees the last two weeks of July. Its pretty mild all year long in different parts of British Columbia though.

the phrase that you'll here people say ins outhern Ontario is... "its not the heat, it's the humidity".... it can be very stiffling.

Normal temp may be 80F but with the humidity it is well over 95F.

True summer temps arrive about the third week in June in southern Ontario. You will get temps about 25 degrees C. in the day and 17 at night. July and most of August will get up to 30 33C with mostly cool evenings. When Labor day comes, God throws a switch and we start losing temperature fast. By mid Oct. our highs average about 17 degrees, and nights around 5C. We do have gorgeous summers, but they sure are short. Hockey playoffs end in early June, and normal season starts in early Oct.

Too damn hot, if you ask me. I grew up in Niagara Falls. Humid, sticky, wet hot all summer long. Temps usually sitting at 35ish.

So I moved North. 5 hours drive North. Its still around 30+ here all summer, but thankfully I left the humidity behind.

It's paradoxical.

I have seen it get to -40 and +40, in the same location, in the same year.

I live on the prairies, so it gets both extremely cold in the winter and extremely hot in July and August at times.
